Not an allotment, but the idea still applies. I do fancy making one using some old steel car wheels...

This is the roof on the ice cream Bedford You saw in my last post that I laminated a 8' by 8' square flat sheet of fibreglass it was an experiment I managed to bend it down on the edges but there is a slope at the ends this makes it a compound curve nightmare I ended up pie cutting in 6 slices about 2' each these were stitched together with fibreglass in the right place to form a compound curve I started filling the lows after this soon got peed off working at the top of the ladder so I took the whole roof off Frame and all lol As said I filled the lows but you can't fill the highs At this point I decided a mould would be taken and I would fill the highs in the mould that would then be lows confusing eh ?? This is the mould ready to use after about a day and half of filling and rubbing down its hard to get the right gentle curve to such a mohoosive panel This is it on ready to be fixed properly in place first need to fit and seal all lower panels permanently

That's an horrendously shaped panel to have to build, a credit to your skills that you managed it! You can almost understand why the last guy bodged it. Almost.

I suppose he did what he did because he didn't understand what he was doing The roof section that I made was originally in 4 bits I could have put it back like that a bit easier than one bit but better in I one less chance of leaking far less

Read through this over the past few hours - love the craftsmanship - and it brings back memories of caravan holidays in the 60's.

That looks better than new! Given the old Sprites were built down to a (low) budget, I'd say it has to be a lot better than new!

Your work continues to amaze me.
I do sometimes want to build another teardrop or create some other style caravan from an existing one, or even an older resto, but realise I already have too much stuff, and my truck needs to be rebuilt first.
