All Japanese Day 2016

So Saturday evening I get a notification from an event I'm keen to check out in September, asking who was going to a show on Sunday called All Japanese Day.
Wait, what?? I like Japanese! I have a day! So this morning I got up early and made my way north of town to check it out.
There were many Datsuns. Many Mazdas. Many Toyotas. Even many Tri-Spokes! It was many good.

I posted a couple of pics in my Cressida thread relevant to that, so here are a few more that caught my eye.

There was more oil in this engine bay than inside the engine I think. :\

And a Cedric! Saw this as it was entering and pretty much ran after it to get a half decent shot. Luckily he turned down what I knew was a dead-end so I just had to wait for him to come back.

The picture with the oily engine, that's a 4agze, I see it's running a turbo, but is it running the supercharger as well ?.

It might just be turboed, cause the internals are stronger in the 4agze over the 4age.

Twin charge kits were made by HKS, but they're insanely rare and expensive, I have a friend who had the kit on a mk1 mr2 and when it was finally all up and running produced 300 whp, in a mk1 mr2 lol.

Looking at the picture, properly. I see it's not supercharged, so it's in theory a 4agte.

I chuckled at this MightyBoy as I remember skipping classes years ago and going to get Japanese curry for lunch with a friend who drove one of these. Always felt ridiculous.

Then later I saw who brought it along, two old ladies easily in their 60's. Grand!

A little new maybe, but Tri-Spokes again!

There was actually quite a few on show.









I thought it was velvet at first, haha.

It was in a KE70, so would make sense. Just turbo, no super.
I was just surprised at the amount of oil splatter everywhere.
Like it'd driven there with the oil cap off or something.
