After a birthday treat to brooklands Mercedes Benz world and a play on their racing simulators, I'm after building, purchasing a steering wheel set up for my ps4. Any recommendations? Any cool set ups out there? I've got something in mind but it's approx £1000 so I need to be careful please help!

How about making your own frame from some square tubing and getting a fancy seat from a scrapyard? Alfa 156 or something. Then get some cheapish large monitors and ps3s etc

Yes that's what we'll do, something like that. Just wondered if anybody all ready has something set up they can recommend.

Just my 2p worth, but seat wise eBay and thinking laterally are your friends.
Recaro or Coebeau buckets will be £100+ each.
Gen7 Celica seats or Mitsubishi FTO fronts can be had for £25 a pair. Likewise Rover buckets that were made by Recaro in the 80's/90's (820 vittesse/620ti).
Non-Recaro branded R8 Rover ones are almost free nowadays. Saw full f&r set for £30 the other day.
Should save you a wedge.

I'm bidding on the seats but looks like somebody else wants them more than I do!

For a £1000 you could buy yourself a decent PC set up, and have enough rest over to buy a Logitech racing wheel.
That'll be FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR better than a PS4.

For seats, Facebook pages. Rivers, Saab's and such get broken all the time on there.
Parts are dirt cheap.
Facebook has a rover one, "Longbridge sales" or something. Tonnes on there.
ZR broken all the time.
Saab pages, £50 gets you a full set of leathers. Aero if you're quick.

Been busy collecting parts. Got these from Peterborough And these from Hastings for £40! Think I'll make a sofa out the rears, one front seat for the simulator and maybe the other one as the office chair.

I still can't win you over about getting a decent PC in lieu (a good lieu) of a PS4, can I?

Ah yes sorry! My initial post is slightly misleading depending how you read it! I meant what I want to create if purchased new to replicate what I used at Mercedes Benz world would be circa £1000. If purchased new to the same spec! For those that don't know me well I'm a tight ass. I wouldn't spend a £1000 on a toy I hardly get time to use! Hell I wouldn't spend £1000 on a car! I'd want four real cars for that!!! What I mean is I'll recreate what I want on an eddie shoestring budget but it will be cool and gang with my own twist! Using mostly second hand parts. So far I've got the seats. £40. Which I'll also make a top gear style sofa set up out of. Something I've wanted to do for some time. A full set of leather car seats for £40 is the cheapest I've seen. Just a shame I had to drive nearly 5hrs there and back to collect them! (Only quarter if a tank of fuel though!) I always get there eventually when time and budget allows, I find it hard to justify wasting family money on my toys so it has to be reasonable!

You've probably already found it, but Xsim has a wealth of info about making 2/3dof and 6 dof car sims if you wanted to up the seat a bit. www.x-sim.de/forum/index.phpmaking a 2/3 degree of freedom seat isnt too bad price wise. lots on there using truck windscreen wipers or golf caddy motors.
