Quick pic from earlier. Took it to the bodyshop today to get an price to get a few bits of paint done at some point in the future. It is now booked in for a full respray the week after next.. ( laughing aside, the missus is going to go mental when she finds out! ) So it looks like a car I bought on a whim cos I sort of fancied one has turned into a proper project. Other plans include, lowering new exhaust, the current one has a few patches on it and is well past its best change the tyres, I think the 195's are a bit big for the 6" wheel and they track the road and the white lines a bit.

Nice pairing. Always liked the MG Maestro after reading,as a teenager, the Car and Car Conversions build of a road going weekend competition car. From what I can remember there was a series run by Rover which allowed you to compete in a variety of club motorsport disiplines, sprints, hillclimbs, single event rally and a production car trial. Sounded like good fun. Enjoy yours.

So looking over my up and coming work schedule, it is apparent that I don't have the time to work on all the cars and have over committed myself car wise.
The golf is categorically not for sale and the maestro is MOT'ed, Taxed, Insured and turn the key ready to use. Therefore I am thinking about parting with the Saab. If anyone is interested PM me. While it is loosely for sale I am looking into mid term storage for it as I am aware of the fact that they are not going down in value...

That Saab would be very tempting if it was a left hooker.

Removed the towbar on the maestro today, looks much better. As it is going in for paint next week i am still undecided whether or not to get the towbar hole in the bumper filled. I have got a 1989 caravan that I have had for years and still use reasonably regularly. Just can't decide if I would realistically refit the towbar and use the Maestro to tow it.

Noticed it was a bit crusty behind the bumper when I removed the tow bar, but I didn't fully remove the bumper to do it. Thought I would leave the rust poking to the paint shop. Pics from today...

I got the with adapters to 5 x 100. ( genuine RH/KW ones ) The adapters are wheel-centric rather than hub-centric, so they fit in a recess milled into the back of the wheel. To fit them in the golf I converted to 5 x 100. mk3 rear discs and redrilled fronts.

Just happened across this thread. Love it.
Great collection of motors.
Loving the Saab and Maestro.
So is the Saab still loosely for sale, and how about some more pics of the shiny, shiny Maestro?
Bookmarked.

Saab is still loosely for sale, but I might just get it in storage as the money is better in the car than the bank. The shiny, shiny maestro currently looks like this.. ..until next week. Just dropped a off new windscreen rubber, working away till Weds now so hopefully it will be done when I get back.
