A big dilemma on this one with the weather! Still undecided about traveling over for this. Heavy rain through until about 11am & continuous showers in for the day after that. I think the weather will put a lot of people off & might impact the scheduled events.

Weather doesn't look good and there's no shelter at Combe, probably won't risk it which is a shame. Still MX5OC rally at Donnington on Sunday.
I was on the M4 yesterday and saw a transporter with a Lotus Elite (early) and what looked like a Jaguar, both with race numbers etc, traveling west.

Weather doesn't look good and there's no shelter at Combe, probably won't risk it which is a shame. Still MX5OC rally at Donnington on Sunday. I was on the M4 yesterday and saw a transporter with a Lotus Elite (early) and what looked like a Jaguar, both with race numbers etc, traveling west. If you check out the link Matt97 recently left on p1 there looks to be a large Jaguar presence. It's decided that we won't be going excepting some miraculous turnaround in forecast. I feel gutted for the organisers, this is probably one of the track's biggest paydays of the year, Friday weather is glorious, Sunday isn't at all bad but the day they need decent weather it's atrocious. It'll probably cut their take at the gate by ¾ which threatens future events, a lot of exhibitors won't bother turning out & I'm guessing quite a few owners of valuable vintage racers will have second thoughts about taking their prized possessions onto a waterlogged track. A big disappointment & a great shame but the only thing they have no control over is the weather! |

Murphy's Law - the weeks forecasts for day long rain & thunderstorms at Castle Combe appear to have evaporated into a little late rain. Cheers Met Office!

Err, not from where I am (Swindon) horrible rain most of the day. Would have been very unpleasant. That makes me feel a bit better for having decided not to bother going but I do feel sorry for everyone at Castlr Combe if they've 'copped it' today. |

Glad I chose to stay at home today as well, looking at the videos on YouTube it was very wet and quarry corner claimed some more victims  . Atleast the organisers kept the event running as Donington Park stopped racing during the afternoon because of the weather. |

I think then that the organisers at Donington acted in the most responsible manner. I bet this chap wishes he'd stayed at home; But this doesn't look to be anything weather related; |
