You never respond to all of MY posts here.
Sulk. Flounce. Sulk. Flounce.
Looks back in for response. đł
To be honest, I get where youâre coming from. I could run a thread on lots of the stuff I do, but some of it I donât want to advertise, and others are the kind of mundane âgot to doâ things that I can barely summon the enthusiasm to actually do, let alone document.
See how things go.
And, personally, I wouldnât bother about âbumpingâ this thread to the top. I generally look at my bookmarked threads before all else, and only skim for ânewâ stuff from time to time. I canât be the only one who does that.

To be honest I'm so unhip it's a wonder my bum hasn't fallen off, then I'd need to have a transplant (to mix in some Monty Python).
I also tell people that I ascribe to the Douglas Admas approach to deadlines...
although my favourite (edited) is
...I wish Iâd listened to what my mother told me when I was young.â âWhy, what did she tell you?â âI donât know, I didnât listen.â
I used to have that as an email signature really confused the Americans.

See this is why I liked QM's ramblings so much (I know he will still contribute somewhere - but I'll have to try to find those posts whereas here they were all easily accessible) I just had to Google Shrödinger's cat as although I had heard of it I did not know what it was. His inane ramblings were quite educational & though provoking - as well as being inane Anyway QM, I hope the cat situation might mean you will buy an american car - I look forward to a thread if you do & will come & help if you ever need it.

More relevant to modern society is Schrodingers USB! When you insert a USB into a port it doesnât fit, you turn it over and it still doesnât fit. It is only on the third attempt that it fits!

Or Schrodingers spanner.
It is a well known phenonema that a 10mm or 13mm spanner can be sitting on the bench in front of you but you will be totally unable to find it.
The spanner has 3 states;
There. Not there. Both there & not there.
When you do not need the spanner it will be 'there' When you need the spanner it will be 'both there and not there'
After stomping aroung the Garage swearing a lot and screaming "where is that F*$%@ng spanner!!!!!" and finally using the imperial size of either 3/8" or 1/2" and rounding off the nut the spanner will finally go to the state of 'There'

Lots of tools have strange quantum powers though. Like a hammer, for instance... a sort of occult-powered divining rod for immediately seeking out and testing to destruction the most fragile and expensive item in the general vicinity of the thing you actually wanted to hit

My old Mitsubishi Delica had a black hole down the back of the injection pump. Any tool (normally a 7mm socket) that fell down there ceased to exist in this universe. On the subject of a plastic car and it's flouncy owner... Well I like this thread and the car. And the owner if I'm honest. Anyway it won't be quite the same if @quatermass doesn't post and that'll be a shame. But if he needs a break, I can understand that too. By the way, I read a story that the phrase "black hole" means something quite rude in French and was coined deliberately to annoy them. I never been able to confirm it though. James P.S. Black holes are related to Quantum Physics and Schrodinger's spanner because black holes can't be explained by normal physics and only by quantum physics. Which nobody understands so you can say what you like... Anyway I assumed you all knew that and then though you might not! I didn't want you all to think I'd gone off in a random direction with no explanation 'coz that never happens in this thread.

In French, the term for Black holeâ "Trous Noir" â is slang for "anus" So i suppose it does bring a whole new slant to things disappearing into a balck hole

Gentlemen - and any ladies lurking but not having made our acquaintance (hope springs eternal in my breast) - I believe from the previous post that what we have stumbled on here is the fabled Shrödinger's (note the correct Umlaut) Forum Thread which has three states ;
When the OP is posting When the OP is temporarily not posting (this probably involves flouncing - see below**) When the OP decides to post no longer
Now how are we to determine the viability of the original thread without the observation of the same affecting the quantum state of the thread? Using currently favoured Objective Collapse Theory it can be seen with the passage of time that the thread could actually observe itself thus self-determining its state.
LONG LIVE THE THREAD! HUZZAH!

I may be forced to post some almost car - related bodging that will annoy those with skills to suggest what I should be doing. Oh and some wonky bits to upset glenanderson just to take his mind off other things. James
