Can anyone give me some background info on this, it looks like a tachometer and pressure gauge. What would it have helped you do back in the day?  |

Hi, It looks like it is for setting up the vacuum modulator on automatic gearboxes. I certainly had to make a similar arrangement when working on a model 12 gearbox from a Jaguar XJ6. From memory the process was to pick up the revs to a fixed amount in gear against the brakes, then adjust the modulator until you get a set oil pressure at a take off on the g/box. There are other gearboxes that need to use it as well, but don't ask me to identify them.

My Mum brought one similar to this home one evening as she was convinced i was not hers? It made a 'crackiling' sound, and she then told me that it was confirmed, I had to leave home and never come back! (a bit late i thought as i had just turned 45!!)
