Anybody going?
It's at the NEC in Birmingham. Was thinking of heading down on the Saturday to see the sights and check out the car auction and autojumble. Also on the hunt for an owners club so I'll be checking out the Historic VW owners club, although not sure if I meet their criteria.
So, will any of you be there?

I'll be there on the Saturday helping to man the SIMCA club stand though I'll not have any of my cars on there this time. The 1200S coupe or the 1000 racer will be on our stand at the March NEC Restoration Show.

I'll be there from Thursday (set up day) to the Sunday on the Rover Coupe Owners Club stand in the 'Rover Village'.
Spent all weekend helping prep one of the cars so looking forward to seeing how it looks under the lights (not good for swirls).

Spent all weekend helping prep one of the cars so looking forward to seeing how it looks under the lights (not good for swirls). I'm sure it will look great but depending on which hall. Some of the lights are funny off whites, changing the colour of the cars a fair bit. Take a photo and adjust white balance! Ill be there, spending money in autojumble and i have some friends on the Capri Club International stand.

I Really enjoyed it yesterday. The highlight for me was getting beeped at by Sir Stirling Moss on his mobility scooter near the Maserati stand! (It was busy so he was just tooting in general to clear a path) with some helpers in tow.
Car wise, I fell in love with a little black Fulva, a little gold E21 and Nick Masons Maserati 250F! I hadn't been before and even though it was really busy, it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Also got chatting to a guy on the Ford Probe stand, another guy the BMW Owners club and a very nice lady on the Maserati stand, who had a Merc Pagoda, R107, C124 Cab a Fez F430 and a Maz Gran Cabrio!
Anyway, good show!

Also got chatting to a guy on the Ford Probe stand! Might have been me, although I wasn't their in an official capacity, I did do a stint whilst some of the others had a break. For a car nobody likes they had a busy weekend!

For a car nobody likes they had a busy weekend! I was really suprised as people don't generally give the Probe much credit. It was a busy stand! And all the cars looked suberb i had a good long look at each of them. You don't usually see such clean examples Top credit to the Organisers of the stand!

You don't usually see such clean examples Top credit to the Organisers of the stand! They were some of the better cars in the club (UKPOC) - the chap with the silver car from the 1996 'Fly Me to the Moon' TV commercial owns another five Probes, three of those are as good as the others on the stand. They are a car that once you try them they get under your skin. There were loads of visitors to the stand who had owned them in the past and most wished they'd still owned them, quite a few were considering buying another when we pointed out that they are still reasonable value.

I have a feeling if they were RWD they would be much more sought after. I was going to buy one of the cheaper ones as a winter run around until i found the Sierra p100 ive been wanting for a while.
They are still on my list to own in the next couple years. Being a Capri man i need to know what the successor is like.
