There's two definite things I can say about myself.
1. I'm a tight git
2. I'm creative
I wanted a feu orange air freshener for my acty and as is well documented on here the original 3D ones fetch a pretty penny on the world's most monopolised auction site.
So combining my tight gittedness and my creative edge I made my own.
Step 1. Google image search for feu orange. Bingo bango found a large good quality one straight away.
Step 2. Resize and print on some card so the circles are the same size as a pod on a strepsil blister...
Step 3. Cut out a strepsil pod and remove the loose foil...
Step 4. Cut out the amber hexagon with a Stanley blade or craft knife, push the orange hexagon into the strepsil pod and push the pod through the hole you've just cut in the card....
I should have taken a few more photos for the next step but ...
Step 5. Score along the edges of the printed rectangle and fold in the equivalent width again from either side and and a smaller overlap top and bottom, steal the chain from the plug in the downstairs toilet sink, thread under the top fold over, gaffa tape the folded over sections together and apply a piece of double-sided tape over the top of the gaffa tape...
Step 6. Cut out a piece of cardboard the same size as the front, colour in with black marker and stick to the double sided tape. Colour in any exposed areas of white card with marker ....
et voila...
I raided the sewing tin but we didn't have any pins with coloured round heads for the finishing touch but I'll get one.
Improvements that could be made for version 2 ...
1. Print on glossy card instead of matt
2. Get a photo of the back to print off instead of a plain black back
3. Colour in the back of the card before folding it over the back of the strepsil pod
Besides the potential improvements I'm pleased with how it turned out for a quick 1 hour project.
