Good evening people of RR! Has anyone got experience/recommendations of the following: Nurburgring 24hrs Le Man 24hrs Nurburgring Old Timer Grand Prix I'm aiming to organise a weekend abroad to one of the follow next year for me and a few mates and was wondering if anyone could help me decide? They all seem amazing events! Of course if there are any other options I haven't thought of please let me know.

oh yeah, from Sussex you can get over to watch Stage Rallies in Flanders very easily, they're all within an hour or so of Calais and there's a fair few on through the year, beer and chips everywhere, and much more variety than any British mickey mouse round the cones on an airfield effort.

ERC as main event and the FIA/Belgian Historic as a second event running alongside. recce's are Tue/wed ,shakedowns start on wed & thur, rallies start Fri pm and all Sat with podiums around 11pm so plenty of time for beer and recovery sunday. have an Italian @ shakedown in Boezinge in the closed streets a few oddball 'classic' rally cars.... and yes it is his name...

I'd love to do the Mille Miglia in May.

Belgian Grand Prix? Ticket prices are probably offputting, but Spa is still a track worth visiting.

if you want some fun in the sun , there are several road rallies on lanzarote through the year , though we always seem to miss them by a week or two! other events across the canaries to I believe.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Definitely want to drive to wherever we're going, the roadtrip is 50% of the fun!
Berg Cup was on my list actually at one point, for some reason I had forgotten about it until now. I'll look into that a bit more.

Spa Six Hours. Great 2/3 day historic race event along with static show.

a couple of years ago some friends and me went to Homburg for Berg Cup, in the same weekend the Eiffel Rally was running as well so that got a visit too. Eiffel Rally is great, big displays from the Slowly Sideways group with loads and loads of Group B cars. And Homburg for me was better then Eschdorf, but might have been because we didn't see much Gruppe H cars (the 1100cc screamers) in Eschdorf that year.

For car spotting oldtimerdag Zandvoort is actualiteit very good. It's on the circuit and with possibility of driving the track for 20 minuten a heat. But not with a competition element. Free entrance for classic cars. But it's only nice when the weather is ok. Oldtimerdag Lelystad is also really nice. It's a static display , but Some beautiful cars over there. And of course the Car show in essen germany. That's big and enormous and epic

Really close to Amsterdam at the beach , so very nice to stay in the little village of Zandvoort and eat something while the rest of Holland tries to head home through traffic

Have done both the Nurburgring 24hrs and the Oldtimer grand prix. Both great events - if you're going to go camp and do a proper weekend of Motorsport based tom foolery go for the 24hrs - the forest around the track turns into some crazy commune built out of scaffolding and old wood - it's like burning man for petrol heads. I'll never forget the hot tub 2 stories up overlooking the track with a fridge next to it... Great place and when the Germans let their hair down, fun times are had, but does help if you like techno! If you want amazing cars though, the Oldtimer grand prix is amazing - here's a good write up and photos retrorides.proboards.com/thread/173710/late-never-timer-grand-prixIt's an amazing event, with an unbelievable range of cars. The sound of a BMW M1 flat out up the hill before the Karussell will never leave me.
