It could be the pictures, but the bottom door hinges look to be upside down?
I'm always collecting bits that need rehoming, although I suspect you're not just 5 minutes from West Cumbria.
I need to repair the chassis and build a bulkhead for it before I can do a great deal with it though. Without going off on too much of a tangent it's a genuine 'One Ton' spec truck, which is a bit of a rarity.

One ton - very nice! I'm a bit further away than West Cumbria, but you never know. If you find yourself headed to the Midlands then give me a shout.

Yeah if they work then it's best not to tempt fate and leave them. I might make it to a show or two down thst way this year.
Nudge mate, give us a shout if you're up this way again, I'm not far from Sellafield.

I'm going to bookmark this, purely because of words I've never seen used in a Land Rover thread. Britpart.... And they are superb Warmth DeLuxe I can however, relate to With that done we went to the pub. As you do.

But obviously I haven't bought any big bits. Or panels. That would just be silly...

I'm bookmarking this too. Which is probably a bad idea as I'd love another Series!
I've used load of Britpart bits over the years, and have not found them any worse than other parts so far.

So today I've added another Brit to the fleet. I bought the MGB from the classifieds. Yep, the one that is "solid, but needs superficial bodywork". Now, to be fair to the seller, I bought it blind and I am happy with what I paid for it. Although my version of solid usually means not being able to put your finger through the passenger sill. Or the rear wing. Or the front wing... Still, it doesn't matter. I've long been a huge fan of B's. And I have always wanted to build an outlaw-flavoured GT with a fast road engine. Which means junking a load of weight so I'm planning to remove everything hinged, and replace it with fibreglass. And to get rid of the rotten wings and replace those with GRP too. Most of the interior is headed for the skip (which is where it looks like it belongs to be fair). Although Mrs Ellwood has for once expressed an interest in one of my cars so it will probably end up slightly less stripped out than originally planned. Recent success roller painting the Land Rover doors means that this is going to end up rollered either satin black or satin Atlantic Green. Haven't decided yet and don't need to worry about it for a while. So purists, or people who like nice panel gaps and good paint will probably find something much more interesting on the next thread. It will be along in a minute... For those still watching, there won't be any updates on this for a while as I need to save up and buy panels. And ask silly questions in the question section about which panels I need (any assistance with my numptiness is very much appreciated. I normally bail out of projects when they get tricky, and this one has all of my eject triggers - bodywork, welding, patience - right from the get go....) So this is what arrived. Remember - purchased blind and not complaining. Needless to say it wouldn't jump start ("it was moving around under it's own power a couple of days ago"). And it was binding when I tried to push it backwards to get it in position to go into the lockup. So I used the trusty Touareg to shunt it in there and locked the door. More soon. Ish.

More Tatting about with the Landy today. And decided to put the mgb up for sale. The previous owner had a habit of painting everything Nato Green. So as well as faffing about with dash lights today we have new bonnet latches, new number plate light, tidied up the back and mounted the hi-lift. New tailgate is also now painted, in Nato Green-is, and will be fitted this week with swanky swing down/swing away hinges.

Grabbed twenty minutes of tinker time in between rain showers today which meant I could finally get my new (nearly) colour-matched tailgate fitted. I have really been looking forward to this as I had found some swing-down/swing-away hinges. The biggest pain in the ass with the back of the Landy is having to chamber over the tailgate to get in. So the swing away option makes it infinitely easier to get in there. Bye bye old split (lightweight?) tailgate. Hello new one! Last week I found out why the driver side demister didn't work. It was missing one these to connect it to the heater... Job jobbed. Demister working both sides. Rocker gasket and exhaust next...

Top tinkering. Keep up the good work. There seems to be much LR love on here at the moment, which is good. I think the orange doors ought to look terrible, but they really suit it.

Agree, when you say it is Nato Green with orange doors it sounds appalling. But having seen the old bomb disposal wagons I wanted to give it a go. And I really like it. I have all of the paint and rollers to paint it Atlantic Green....but am going to keep it like this now.

They do look rather good in Atlantic Green though. Snowy photo as the country is in a panic about it at the moment.

I have always taken an interest in old land rovers, but I have to admit to have no idea what is what and I now find myself with a bit of an irritating interest in them.
I blame your thread, not entirely, but quite significantly for this current urge. For that I thank you.
Look forward to what you do with it next.

Been enjoying lots of mooching around until backing off the drive a couple of weeks ago. Reversed off, went to change gear- no clutch. Whilst stuck blocking our entire culture de San. Oops. Still got it back on the drive and straight on t'interweb. New master cylinder, slave cylinder, flexi and hard line ordered. Total cost of £35 including postage. So yesterday was a bonnet up kind of day. First up, new master cylinder. Replacing the flexi was easy. Ish... Old master cylinder out, complete with pedal for changeover. This is a good point to do the slave cylinder. Or it would be if your vehicle's previous owner hadn't painted over every floor retaining screw with about five coats of Nato Green. curse word drilling them all out at this point in time. Job for another day... So, time for a Doughnut. And then put the new master cylinder on. Put a new rocker gasket on too. Need to bleed the clutch as soon as I can get a second pair of hands. Then it is new exhaust time. And contemplating fitting a truck cab.

real men do the clutch master in situ, gaffer taping 13mm ring spanners up from the cabin side No. Real men drive Series 2s, with the stupid "mechanical clutch actuator converted to hydraulic on the cheap by the factory" option, and have 6" long fingers with a knuckle every half-inch to be able to reach it.

Unless it's a Forward Control, then the slave cylinder is practically a Walk in arrangement.
