I'm trying to find a company that can rebore a block for my lancia fulvia. The engine block that I would like to have bored is to fit a set of pistons I have. 76,6 mm bore. Its a small square cast iron block and its in a narrow V configuration. Someone in Sussex south east would be good. Tried Southern Rebores and Sprabuild that have been recommended but they cant do a V4. Cheers Luke

Without sounding too thick - wouldn't boring a v4 be similar practice to a v6 or v8? Have you spoken to throbnozzle racing?
He's down south and knows his way round old ford's
Edit: I know it's a lancia engine but it's worth a go

I will see if I can find him thanks L

Can't see any reason you couldn't just use a normal boring bar on one? What's the issue?
I'd say we could do it for you but were in Sudbury Suffolk so probably a bit far.

I'm not sure why you couldnt do that either...so I don't know why. Ive just rang a few of the local guys who I could find or be recommended and they have not been able to help. Thanks for the offer but Sudbury is a bit far at the moment. Though the distance to travel is getting further ....cheers for that.

I'm waiting for a reply from them cheers Luke

Something to do with the angles and a rig to get it true I suppose? Or the physical dimensions of the block having a bank of cylinders each side? The process is the same but the set up will be different, but I'm no expert and my "usual" are air cooled flat 4 which handily have removable barrels rather than bores in a block.

Hi, It's to do with whether they have an angle plate to clamp the block to so the bores are vertical. Even some inline slant engines can be difficult.

Hi, It's to do with whether they have an angle plate to clamp the block to so the bores are vertical. Even some inline slant engines can be difficult. Colin Yes I spoke to someone I think it was AMS who said that they don't have an angle plate and he wanted to make one. They are quite expensive and not beyond an engineering company to make (which is what he wanted to do) but he had not got one to do the V boring. Throbnozzle couldnt do it but recomended AMS too Yes Slater "Possibly not enough room on the block face to physically get the boring bar on." is also very likely as the fulvia block is very square and not like your normal 4 cylinder long rectangular shaped block. There are two options, so far, both in Essex the otherside of the darford tunnel which is a fair drive for me. But we will see.

Spoke to my boss apparently he used to borrow a angle plate from the Lancia Owners Club but that was 20 years ago at least.

So the deck is not perp to the bore? Fair enough. No they're a bit weird, always assumed they're a standard 60/90 V but they're more like a cube with the bores angled in.
