Have to also point out that other insurers can be just as bad. The insurance on the van has been around the £400 mark for a while, but this year Hastings had doubled the renewal to £800 I rang up, told them I was definitely leaving them. You could also hear the panic in her voice, and she offered me the price of £335 if I stayed, which I did

Would have done, but other companies were wanting £450+ so stayed with Hastings.

Why on earth is this marketing toot being tolerated on here? It does annoy me , especially they way they have treated many people on here and various other forums , but I guess it's up to the mods to decide if it's ok to push there company on here

Google returns lots of interesting things when you search Adrian Flux. Must be of some benefit to the forum.

Have to also point out that other insurers can be just as bad. You could also hear the panic in her voice, and she offered me the price of £335 if I stayed, which I did That is not at all as bad as the treatment lots of people including me have had from Adrian Flux. Yes, they tried to get a higher than reasonable price then dropped it, sadly although thats not nice its normal practice. Adrian Flux on the other hand will sell you cover and then try anything to not actually give you what you paid for, or one of the many other scams detailed in this thread. People need to read this thread carefully if considering using them, they are not just like the rest, they have a terrible reputation and are worse than the rest. Anyway, just to help future customer Google searches to find this thread - Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review Adrian Flux insurance review This method works to help potential customers find the info us ordinary folk have left by getting the page right up in the search results, just google "Faraday motors in Newbury" if you don't believe me.

I'd be VERY surprised if that were the case Does this forum allow traders without contributing toward the privilege? Yes. Closest thing we had to sponsorship was with Brentacre who did their forum referral discount thing with us and we would have got £x via that depending on how many people took it up. Thing is people seemed to rather want to just get the cheapest price on confused.com and not declare their mods rather than have proper insurance, so we ended up binning that as it wasn't worth it for either side. So no AF don't sponsor us, they don't even trade at our show.

Sponsorship money is clearly the reason they are still here So no AF don't sponsor us, they don't even trade at our show. Given that, I assume the allegation requires an apology, purely out of manners.

Reason being that almost every other forum I've used require those benefiting from advertising are required to contribute a monetary sum to the site.

After I sold my import Forester last month, I decided I didn't want many £1000's ties up in a car that I will do 3k max a year in so fancied another luxo barge. As I have only been a named driver for the last 8years on a daily (All my other cars were classed as classic or cherished) I have no NCB despite being 46yrs old. I opted for an E320 Merc of 96 vintage. I called AF as they sponsor a website I am involved in and was quoted £500+ as "Neither we or any of our insurers, don't see this as a classic vehicle' When I told her she had no hope of getting me to pay that she started ranting 'No-one else will be cheaper, it's not a classic car and you want to use it daily' - I told her that I would still not do more than 3k a year she just wouldn't listen so I hung up.
Called A Plan in Thatcham and had fully comp cover within minutes for £140 for both myself & my Wife. 5k mileage too! Flux tried to hump my leg when I had my Volvo 345 insured with them. I'd set up a direct debit as I was skint at the time, so needed something in a hurry as I was travelling south the same week to collect the car. After running about in the Volvo for a few weeks, Flux threatened me with bailiffs, court and - in the light of how confusing their small print was - probably plague and death too. They claimed that my bank had declined the payment, the truth of that was that Flux had never even applied for it. Too busy brushing up on their script probably.. BUT.. Back in September of last year, I almost found myself using Flux again when I had bought my bB and was about to travel to Luton to collect him from the seller. Fortunately, I discovered A Plan with a day to spare and they gave me fully comp cover, including the stuff you'd get with a UK car such as 3rd party cover for driving other folks' cars, legal exs, the works. So, rather than making this post all about how sad it is that Flux has become a right royal PITA and listing the many things that they've done to annoy members of the car clubs I'm involved with, can I add my words of appreciation for A plan. For a bog-stock but too new to be of interest in RR Toyota bB, with no modifications, Flux wanted £590 for a year's cover. £590 for what is effectively a marginally longer, taller Yaris Verso or, as Flux obviously didn't know; a group 7 car, not a million quid worth of 1960s Italian thoroughbred! A plan, who seem like very nice people and were able to ask me the relevant questions without referring to their copy of World Cars, 2000, were gobsmacked at the Flux quote and have me insured at under £200, in other words, for the same amount as I'd be paying for a UK market Daihatsu Materia or Yaris Verso. Conversations with A plan were clearly being held with a human being who wasn't working from a script, who genuinely liked their job and who weren't phased in the slightest by my car's import status. Since the bB went into daily service, I've inevitably chatted with other owners of JDM stuff and it can't be a coincidence that so many also insure with A plan. For the "I can't sell the effing thing so may as well keep it" AE92R, I'm probably going to put that on cover with RH in the next month or two as I'm told that they're good for older stuff. We shall see but one thing is for certain, Flux won't be getting that gig. I actually feel quite sorry for the poor guy who works for Flux and has been on the receiving end of so much ire in this thread. After all, he's not personally to blame for this catalogue of failures to perform.

As long as you deal with A Plan Thatcham branch, they will ususally beat any price on older stuff as that branch only deals with old or cherished cars. Got my Merc with them atm.
