Only just caught up with this, mines wired into a ce2 mk2 golf fusebox, so a different kettle of fish. If it makes you feel better though I literally joined up about 5 wires to get it running, then another 5/6 to get my guages working. Not much to wiring up a 1.8t, its just getting the feeds in the right place.
Btw looks like your gearbox is an 02J, well it will be if its an octavia box anyway. Expect a terribly short 5th where at 70mph you’re constantly on the cusp of boost LOL.

It’s been a while since an update but really everything I’ve been concentrating on isn’t that exciting. I’ve got round to completing the coolant hose runs and vac hoses, and got a turbo intake pipe bolted up. 12v supply from the boot with hardcore 70mm/2 wire fused and vented. Close to getting power in the bay and can hopefully look at wiring up the engine to see if it will turn over. Still need a downpipe and a ps reservoir bracket and to finish the third engine mount. And picked up another mk4 vag beater, needs whitewalls and side vinyl. And a roof rack.

I’ve got the pinouts and wiring half setup but keen to hear any experience

I'd a really early new beetle, ROI import, they are great wee cars, handle like go-karts and if you really try they will lift off oversteer, the golf parts are cheap and cheerful to fix and replace, the beetle parts are not great to see the Lupo is still ticking along

Rust is lighter than Carbon Fibre which is why old Fords are so fast.

I’ve got the pinouts and wiring half setup but keen to hear any experience From memory it's pretty much ECU earth trigger, fuel pump trigger from ecu, power to sensors from ecu relay, & a few ignition lives or perms. There's a great guide over on club gti: clubgti.com/showthread.php?267196-OEM-MK4-management-wiring-gt-Mk1-2-3-harness-install-FAQ-(Now-with-added-dieselness!) Edit: I know the fusebox isn't ce2 in a lupo, but it gives you the gist. Or if you fire over the lupo diagrams I can give you a hand. Another alternative is to wire your relays externally to the car fusebox if you prefer to do it that way. For example on a PD conversion I did into a non vag chassis (same principle as 1.8t) i did it as follows: ECU relay: 30- battery +ve, 85- ECU pin18 trigger feed, 86- IGN live, 87- Power output wires (sensors etc). Fuel pump relay: 30- battery +ve, 85- Ecu pin80, 86- IGN live, 87- fuel pump plug pin1. (I won't list the glowplugs as you get the idea!) So could do that for the 1.8t setup, what's the engine code you're using?

Pretty much the above, it was quite a while ago that i loomed mine up but as long as you have the ecu/fuel pump and injector powers, it’ll run

Its an AUC to AUQ. I'm pretty happy with the wiring if I'm honest i just never knew what was required for the ECU to kick it into life. Some cars tend to require a cam/crank sensor signal otherwise they wont go near it.
Ive bastardised the Lupo loom, removed all the AUC curse word and am just manually putting feeds to the ECU. The cars pretty simple tbh but i have main power and earth feeds, fuel pump relay feed, 12v to the starter and alt and I'm just putting an exciter wire and solenoid feed from the key now.
Theres still plenty to remove from the loom that i wont use. I just need to identify each wire and see where it terminates. There are still a few plugs left where one wire goes into the internal loom, and ive snipped five others. I'm just going throuhgh the wiring diagrams tonight.

Time marches on and I’m nearly finished. One more driveshaft, little bit of welding on the downpipe and should drive out of the garage under its own steam

Read through this from the start, awesome project and something I had always fancied giving a go once other projects are done! It’ll certainly surprise a few cars!

So yeah, it’s been months since I was on here so thought I would throw a pic dump up. Cars just about finished aside from: NS indicator plug, someone I’ve mixed it up along the way with other wiring Mystery unused plug under the dash, think it’s for a tweeter Rev counter wiring Speedo wiring check Torque driveshaft inner cvs up Radiator is possibly too small Fit a lambda Other than that it’s running and driving now. Only had to weld one driveshaft and have reverted back from the track idea to sleeper. Interior is about back in now but I messed up by binning most of the parts. Sod’s law. Enjoy the pics
