07 I've actually picked the wheels up today, more on that in a few days.
SmokeEm, I'm not sure yet, this year I want to keep things simple and go to shows and enjoy using it. Long term a manual box would good nice, very long term maybe a 6 cylinder engine.
Also after driving it today and checking it properly I can confirm it's a 4 speed.

Glad you ended up with this. I loved my E30 to bits, even with the auto box. This is a car that really needs nothing but maintenance. Maybe a little tap with the stick. That's all I would've done with mine anyway. Not a quick/fast car, but I wouldn't say they were sluggish. Just a joy to drive.

Looks far far better on those alloys. What's next? There's a little bit of rot on the rear inner arch, first on my list is to get that welded up. Then I want to get all the tiny bits of rust on the outer body sorted out. After that I'm not sure, I had thought about getting a manual box and long term a 6 cylinder engine. But I actually really enjoyed driving as it is. It's not fast but it cruises round nicely.

It looks good on the alloys - I have always liked that design of wheel.

This must be the one i commented on in the 'whats it worth' section. It looks a good'un!
It might be worth another good hunt around the container as those alloys would have had some pressed metal centre caps which would finish the look off nicely

It's quite a while since I've done an update. There was a hole in the right rear arch, I got my welder friend to sort that for me then used the car for a fair while without touching it. Mot was due September but I put it in a month early, it passed no problem but there was a slight bit of binding on one rear wheel so I got the local garage to sort this for me while it was in for the mot. I ended up getting new liners, shoes and brake pipes on the rear. A problem started over the summer, the speedo needle would work normally then suddenly start jumping up and down. Everyone I spoke to said it would be the wire coming from the speed sensor on the diff, but I checked this and it was fine. I took a gamble and bought a second hand dash unit. I swapped the speedo units over and that fixed it straight away, only problem was my car speedo going from 78k to 100k.

Yeah those old auto boxes really sap the power and fuel... Driving the same engine with a manual and auto on them back-to-back is like night and day. Nice to see this is still getting love!
