Ive got a W201 Carat Duchetelet and my heaters are warm one side and cold the other but i only flushed it once with water. Need something more suitable i think! Mine starts fine but hunts on idle so i need to get round to sorting that out! The center vent are designed to only blow cold BTW.

Yeah i know that but drivers side is cold and passengers is warm so its either the dial not doing its job or theres a blockage somewhere. When i first washed it through it was hot both sides, and now after some use its gone back to passenger warm and drivers cold

Love the 190 E's, I've had two, first was just a 1992 1.8 manual in silver, I bought it from its second owner, only had 77,000 miles, I kept it for 3 and a bit years, did about 35/36,000 completely trouble free motoring with it. I sold it, bought a C200 Sport auto (in yellow ) and it wasn't a patch on the 190, had to have new battery, new starter motor + new discs n pads, I only kept it for 18 months, then I had a few different cars whilst on the look-out for another nice 190E, which I found at Central Car Auctions near Glasgow, it was a smoke silver 2.0 auto, 105,000 miles with extensive history, also a 92 car, it was totally unmarked apart from 1 tick shaped scratch on the boot lid, it had AMG alloys, which I had refurbed, + a major service done, and a star for the bonnet as it didn't have one, I kept it for almost two years, and with my purchase price, + the £750 I spent on it, I only lost £50 when I sold it which I regretted almost immediately. These 190's + other older Mercs were so solidly built - they were virtually made from girders !!

When i first washed it through it was hot both sides, and now after some use its gone back to passenger warm and drivers cold I reckon a few more flushes are needed. Probably a dislodged bit has got caught in the right-hand side of the matrix.

Finally got round to changing my ovp relay just in time as my abs light came on last week. And light still on so will need to look at the wheel sensors. Also took my ignition barrel out as it started to jam so took it out while I could.

You're lucky the barrel came out. I left it too long and ended up having to leave it in a Mercedes Specialist who replaced the whole ignition switch with a second hand one. I still have a barrel insert that I bought from the local Mercedes dealer. The other two 190s I had didn't have any problems.

What a nightmare!
Know how terrible it is if the barrel locks up completely as you need to get it to the first click position to insert the removal tool.
Removed mine at first sign of sticking (yesterday)

Right do I pull the trigger on putting the running gear out of my 300ce that isn't selling in to the 190?

Fitted offside and nearside lemforder wishbones and a lesjofors sport spring kit. Feeling much tighter and no more balljoint groan. Next up engine mounts and shocks if no surprises arise.
