The old man always used to have fun cars (it's all relative I guess) but SD1s progressing from 2600S, 3500, VDP then the Vitesse, Renault 21 Turbo and Rover 220 turbo then an 850T5 estate and sadly now an eminently dull Audi TT.
Mother has a short and fairly unexceptional car history save a couple of the early ones. Princess VDP1100, Allegro mk1, Nissan Sunny 1.3, Renault 21 phase 1, Renault 21 phase 2, Honda Jazz.
Neither of them seem very interested in vehicular transport although my mother did observe that my current Monza is the worst car she's know me to drive. I think it's because it wasn't shiny for 2 years.

My dad was never a Ford man he always called them Dagenham Dustbins but three that stand out were a V6 Consul (Mk1 Granada shape) but that's probably because of a very fast journey back from Newcastle in it one day and a 2 door Mk3 Cortina, reg MUG292L because I remember him saying I might be the mug for buying it and a Mk1 Cortina 2dr in Lotus colours. Other motors I remember were Hillman Hunters and Austin/Morris Landcrabs and Volvos (Amazon,144 and 164) as he had a bit of a soft spot for them I remember one particular landcrab very well as it spent months on its roof in the garage after he'd stripped it for spares. There were days when he'd go to work in one car and come back in a different one altogether so a lot of them were just a blur.

(Dad doesn't agree with back doors as it weakens the structure apparently!) Odd that, We have a family friend who's a copper and he'll never own a three door as he's seen what happens when you can't get to the rear passengers quickly enough in an accident. Yes, I'd be inclined towards the copper's thinking.

Fords were across my family! in my early years my dad had Cortinas, a couple of Mk1s and an inherited Mk2 from my grandad when he bought himself a Mk1 Escort. My dad had capris, escorts and just before his passing last year he bought a diesel Focus. There was a Humber Sceptre and a Vauxhall mixed up in there but they were short lived!!
I inherited the Ford bug and have pretty much owned one since passing my test in '94, mainly Fiestas with the odd Escort and Orion mixed in for good measure!! I have a thing for Subarus too, but Ford will always have a place in my heart and I can't see me ever not owning one!

My dad had loads of cars but the 1 that sticks in my mind is his 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 fastback. We went everywhere in it, towing a caravan all over the country to various shows, shopping, visiting family, picking me up from school etc!! He sold it to start up his own business after being made redundant and regretted it ever since!! I've kept an eye open over the years but never seen it again! Other cars he had were 300e Van, Sit up and Beg Ford Pop, Ford Model T hotrod, lifted Toyota Hilux, Pontiac Parissiene 4 door convertible, Daimler Sovereign, Baja Beetle, and he's now got a Moggy Traveller 2.0 fiat twin cam powered (and he's going to be celebrating his 70th birthday soon!!).

When it comes to cars my amazing dad is a douche!
I Spent my baby and toddler years on the hard shoulder thanks to a forever overheating Hillman Imp.
We progressed to the plush but often wet velour of a pooh brown Allegro 1500 HL.
Next up the perky, revvy Triumph Acclaim - my fave because it had a rev counter.
Crashing back to hell with a light blue Sunny with a vinyl roof.
I left home for good when he bought a Rover 400.
Is it any surprise I like BMWs!!!

Back in the 50's the first car I remember Dad having was a Standard 8, the basic model without an opening boot. He then 'upgraded to a Standard 10. He wanted a 'bigger car' and bought a Hillman Minx.. lots of rust and wiring that burnt out. Went back to a Standard 10 then had to have one of the first triumph Heralds in early 1960. That rusted for Britain and I got it free in '67 as my first car as Dad had bought a nearly new Triumph 1300... good car. On the strength of that he bought a 1300TC brand new... pile of junk, Friday afternoon car... rust, dodgy mechanicals etc at an early age. That cured him of buying anything BL so he bought a Mk3 Cortina which I bought when he got a company car. Two company Capris both developed cam problems. By the time he retired he's got a Cortina Crusader that he bought from the firm. A couple of years later he decided a new Ford was in order. An Escort Mk 3 'Laser' arrived... It proved a pile of junk, rivalling the 1300TC in faults. 1990ish he'd been impressed by a mate's Toyota Corolla and found a dealer who had both Ford and Toyota sites so got a good price on the Escort against an '89 Corolla. That gave him reliable motoring till he died in 2006. In fact, we kept it until a few years ago to run when we had nothing else on the road.

The cars of my childhood are pretty much the same cars I own now! Even though my parents were not into cars in the slightest I still clearly love the three I grew up with....... My Dad's first car. A Chrysler Horizon (which was later rebadged a Talbot after a small bump!) Which influenced me to buy this 30 years later.... My Dad's second car. Started my love of Fords of this era, even though it was the rustiest thing imaginable at only a few years old here! Which influenced me to buy both my first car which was a Mk3 Escort, and this which was my second, and longest owned, as I still have it! And this, which was my Dad's third car, and the one I passed my test in. Which clearly inspired me to buy this.... Me sentimental?! Don't know what you mean....
