/\ I was gonna say can you swap it?
Super cars just ain't that super.
I drove the R8, an Aston and a battered Evo 6 and I'm being genuine here, the Evo was the most fun

Or swap for an off-road experience, some of the best fun I've had is at an average of about 5mph!

Having done one of these, the cars I picked were a Gallardo and an aston v8 vantage
The Lambo was curse word, really terrible seating position, brakes felt broken and way too far dow nthe pedal travel, sounded naff till 3.5k rpm when the valves opened and just kinda barked a bit, steering was slow and dull. The problem with the Lambo is it needs to be driven Fast to be fun, and it loses all of its charm at low speeds. It felt like a fat dim witted TT. And also its the most popular car so it gets flogged every day.
The Aston was worlds apart, perfect seating position with gear lever really well weighted and placed, steering was incredibly direct and the noise was unfiltered and glorious even from idle. if i got the chance to do it again i would choose the Aston every time. The Aston I felt was designed to be a special occasion car, in that the special occasion is driving the thing! It was well balanced, the brakes were good, the noise was spine tinglingly good and the steering was operated by thought, or at least it was so spot on it felt like that.

Is this through supercar drivedays, as I was looking at this as its cheap enough (£59), but I didn't like all the add ons. For example, insurance isn't included (£25), and even if you do pay the extra, its up to them to decide if you're covered. If they say not, you have to pay the first £2500 Have a look at this video, so see that 1: you're never given a chance to actually "use" the cars, and 2: a fast car isn't to be much fun, so 3: try and get the Ariel Atom that they do

I was one of the 'lucky' people that sat in the passenger seat for these super car experiences. Note the past tense.... My 2p's worth is don't scare the instructor on the first lap. If you show that you know what you're doing and are not trying to kill them then you will have a much more enjoyable time. Problem is that the skill level of the attendees varies dramatically and there is no way of knowing just by looking at them! Remember this is an experiance not an attempt to break the lap record and you will get along fine, talk to the instructor, tell him that you want to learn and listen to the advice you are given. I still have flashbacks.... So, what car do you choose.... The Porsche you have to rev really hard to get the performance. Might not go down too well with the instructor. 360 is sort of the same, plus it will probably be a bit tired - early paddle shift Ferrari don't tend to shift that well. Lambo and and R8 are basically the same car with a different badge. Aston is always good theatre. So, I would probably go Lambo... Because Lambo. Whichever you choose you will have a great time, take pictures and enjoy it. P. Edited to add that the Arial is bonkers and would be my choice as it is just so radically different to anything else you will get to drive. If interested I have a video somewhere of an Atom at a Palmer day...

Have to say I did one of these last year where I drove a variety of cars including a V10 gallardo and GT3 and was a bit disappointed. They didn't let you rev over about 3000 rpm at the one I did which meant I didn't really get to experience the noise and power. My favourite drive of the day ended up being the electric BMW i8 as without a rev limit I could actually feel the power.
Out of those on offer though, I would probably go for gallardo, did get to experience the noise briefly!

Having recently (yesterday) sat in a McLaren 650S Can-Am and fired up the engine and given the 'loud' pedal a bit of a prod that was an experience in itself (and I didn't even move).

Having raced at Mallory Park numerous times I was very disappointed to see on the video that they use the bike chicanes to keep the speed down and cut out the hairpin. Virtually an oval with a couple of chicanes. Very poor value for the money in my opinion.

I've done a few of these through work events over the years.
Ferrari 360 - This had the flappy paddle 'box which was awful. It didn't handle brilliantly and didn't feel particularly fast!
Lamborghini Gallardo - Pedals and steering wheel were offset from eachother and I just couldn't get comfy sitting at a slight angle. It was seriously quick though and made a hell of a noise.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage - I drove this on the same day as the Lamborghini. I absolutely loved it. Manual box and traction control switched off. It was such fun to chuck around the track and would try to break traction at every given opportunity. I did 10 laps in it and would of loved to of done 10 more!
Lotus Elise - Good fun and handled like it was on rails. Rover K Series was a bit wheezy though.
E Type Jaguar - Absolutely loved driving this. Not all that quick by today's standards but quite an event to drive. My lasting memory of this was the blast of hot air and smell of 4 star breaking into the cabin every time I accelerated hard!
Porsche Cayman S - Another car that handled like it was on rails. Pretty quick and made a nice noise. I'm not a Porsche fan at all but I really enjoyed it.

So I did the Supercar Blast yesterday, which after the lovely hot weather of the last couple of weeks, was the day it decide to lash it down all day across the Midlands... I was still mentally deciding between the Porsche and the Gallardo when I got there, but got even more indecisive when I got to the briefing. Because in addition to the five cars I listed at the beginning, there was a whole slew of others to choose from! The line-up was: Ferrari California Aston Martin V8 Vantage Porsche 911 GT3 or Carrera 4S Lamborghini Gallardo Audi R8 V10 Nissan GT-R BMW i8 Bentley Flying Spur And then on top of that, you could pay extra for three laps in: Ferrari 458 Spider Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder (six weeks old!) McLaren 570S (three months old!) So I umm-ed and aah-ed, because if I went with the Porsche (which had been my gut choice really), it was pot luck which one I got, whichever one was available when I got to the front of the queue would be my drive. I was tempted by the i8 and also the GT-R but in the end I went for the Porsche, and stumped up sixty quid for the Huracan. After all, if a Gallardo was going to be brilliant, a hyper-Gallardo-mega-plus would awesome, right? STOP! PORKER TIME! Front of the queue...what's in first? GT3!!! And it's red! It's quite a long way down into the bucket seat of a GT3, but very snug and comfortable when you're in there. Manual seat adjustment, manual gearbox (the only one there apart from the GT-Rs), manual handbrake, no traction control, no ABS. Which to be honest, is fine with me, because before I'd bought the Granada, I'd never driven a car with ABS, and still haven't driven one with traction control. To cut a long story short, I absolutely loved everything about it! OK, it was lashing rain, and the track was damp, but the instructor was happy for me to push on and managed to touch 80 at the end of the main straight. LIKE A HURACAN!!! Bright metallic green, it looks amazing. Then you get in, and it's like being in a TIE-fighter. A world of difference away from the Porsche, push-button start (so bloody cool!), paddle shift and what seems a very small steering wheel. The instructor is adamant that hands at ten-to-two, and off the paddles will be fine for the whole lap, no need to feed the wheel. And...I didn't like it anywhere near as much. It sounded amazing, I must admit, and it was faster by a good few mph, but I couldn't get the hang of paddles and crossing my arms and no engine braking. It was great fun, well organised, and I know it's a very artificial experience, but I'd do it again!

Glad you enjoyed it and got the decent Porsche, shame it was a bit wet but in someways it stops you pushing it too much and....well you get the idea lol
