Right for sale reluctantly is my 1999 E46 323
Asking £850 and I'm located in Calne, Wiltshire.
108K Ish miles? Its below 110 i can check if you're really fussed. It's decent mileage for the 2.5 engine and has plenty of life in it.
12 Months MOT
Drift ready daily.
I only bought this 3/4 weeks ago locally with the hopes of turning it into a road legal drift/track car, annoyingly the space i was supposed to be storing it is gone and i have had to put it on my drive which i thought would be fine but the neighbors have been kicking up a fuss about me having two cars in our small street when i live alone Probably moaning more due to the fact its low/noisy but as much as id love to argue with them they share the same landlord as me and its honestly just not worth making a fuss over.
Currently waiting on the logbook from the DVLA, if it hasnt arrived by the time i sell it I'm more than happy to write a full written recent and send it on signed once it arrives.
When i got the car the MOT was just about to run out, i have a friend with a standard E46 who let me borrow it for a week while i lent him my daily, meaning could borrowhis standard steering wheel/seatbelt tensioner to get the light out on the dash for the MOT, i also stuck the fuse back in for the traction control and dash no longer had lights on
Stuck it in for an MOT and it passed so it has a fresh 12 months on it, advisories were:
Rear brake lines slightly corroded which is nothing major i had a look under while it was on the mot ramp
Rear N/s Shock rubber was bad but enough to pass, ive replaced this as a shock was like £15
'Suspension lowered' as an advisorie, its on coilovers but sure.
Basic spec :
-1999 E46 323 with the preffered 2.5 Engine
-Remapped to 191 BHP I have a dyno printout from late last year to prove this unfortunately i don't know who did the map but pulls well through the gears.
-Raceland coilovers all around, not TA Technic or whatever they're called, i have no idea if Racelands are any better or if the spring rates are any different but it seems to drive fairly nice without being so firm it bump steers everywhere.
-Short shifter with aftermarket knob, nice short throw slightly stiffer than normal as you'd expect when shortening it.
-Dished steering wheel
-Old cloth Cobra bucket seat - I had this lying around so i chucked it in when i got it, I'm 5'11 18 stone ish and its a nice seating position/height for me Its on runners and goes backwards and forwards no problem.
I made up a frame for it at work so that when i got a better seat i could just redrill that frame and use it, so wouldnt be hard to swap for another bucket seat, also have standard leather seat to go with vehicle and
that will bolt straight back in if you so wish.
-Welded diff, no idea on ratios or who welded it but apparently its been welded for the last year or two and previous owner had no problems, sounds fine to me and skips around like it should at low speeds turning.
-I fitted both a new N/s rear shock as mentioned above and a new thermostat when i got it, thermostat was more habbit than needed i have always replaced them on any of my 6 pot BMW's ive owned because its cheap to do
and i've seen more than enough horror stories about headgaskets
-4 16" Steel wheels, front two tyres are like new, one rear is borderline and one rear is good.
-Backbox removed and replaced with a straight pipe, mid cats etc still in so its not stupid loud, sounds nice.
-Decent aftermarket DAB/Ipod headunit, DAB doesnt work but I'm guessing its lacking an ariel
-Central locking and all electrics work bar back windows as mentioned below.
-Suprising amount of history to go with it, folder of paperwork.
-Doesn't lose any oil/coolant
Bad bits :
-Missing pass side rear doorcard, god knows why it wasn't there when i bought it and i didnt overly care as i was planning to strip it out.
-Both rear windows held up with screwdrivers, previous owner said they would rattle down, i havent even looked at this yet i was planning to just wedge them up and ignore it, wasnt planning on needing the rear windows working.
-Traction control light on dash and ABS light where airbag is missing and traction control fuse is pulled, car has MOT, this is an easy sort to get through next MOT. You could in reality have the traction control fuse in
but it would mean turning it off every time you start the car so it doesnt get confused by the welded diff, its much easier to just pull the fuse.
-Rear brake lines as mentioned in MOT advisorie, to be honest they're fine, theyll need doing before the next MOT but i was going to plumb a hydro in anyway so was just going to do it all at the same time.
-Tracking needs doing, its not the worst in the world but needs doing, i was waiting until i found wheels etc before i got it set up.
-Paints pretty good but has glue marks from where previous owner had stickers on the bodywork, this would polish off with a bit of effort but looks good when clean.
-Throttle is stiff, standard BMW problem ive had on my E36 and 46 prior to this, a new cable is about £10 and should sort it but it perfectly driveable as is.
So yeah overall, cheap daily drivable drifter, previous owner was using it daily its more than reliable enough or just strip it completely and have a cheap ready to go e46, or stick some nice wheels on it etc.

But yeah, i think £850 is fair for it.

Message me on here or text on 07564046341, Please don't call before texting or whatnot i don't answer unknown numbers I'm afraid, if you text me and let me know you wanna give me a call its no problem.
Pretty sure thats everything i'll update if i've forgotten anything or any questions ask away
If i find somewhere to store it i'll probably end up keeping it but its looking doubtful without paying to keep it somewhere which i cant currently justify.
