Very nice, owned an F plate red GTE myself and out of my 10 Nova's it was by far my favourite. Good luck with the resto but by the looks of it, it doesn't need any awful lot other than re-GTE'ing

I was originally going to paint the splitters and sideskirts in a matt grey as the skirts and rear splitter were painted. I wasnt particularly happy with that, So I got some un-painted side skirts - and a better pair of bumpers with un-painted splitters. will make it more original. Also got hold of a half decent interior. Getting there slowly. Bodyshop at the end of the month and on target to be complete for summer

same with my silver gte. the one with painted rub strips and inserts is a nighmare for upkeep, even with plastic primer and flexi top coat.
i intend to use some of the wurth plastic dye (anthracite grey) on an unpainted set.

So, a small update. As i said previously I wasn't happy with the pattern wings that were fitted and it would have annoyed me had I sent it to the bodyshop and left them on. After some searching I was told of a guy on ebay selling a pair of new old stock GM wings. Only problem, he was to busy to courier them and was miles away. A big thank you to MR S (Martin) off here. He kindly collected and wrapped the wings for me for a courier to collect. Thanks again mate. So i now have two new wings which will fit how i want them to, also got a pair of GM orange indicators and a pair of GM orange side repeaters. Now I just have to wait until the bodyshop have time to fit it in for paint. I didn't end up getting the interior I mentioned before and finding it almost impossible to find a really good GTE interior. I'll give it to the end of the year and if I cant find one I'm contemplating having the GSI interior thats in it retrimmed in the Courtenay Sport style leather from the 90's cars like the pic below. Getting there slowly!

I get married 6 weeks today and am in the process of buying a new house with a garage. So this is currently in my lockup 20 mins away. That and the wedding planning means progress has been slow. Although I have been gathering parts. LOTS of parts Original GTE wheel trims And a job lot of Gte parts that a guy had in his garage for years always intending to use them. So I now have all the parts I needed to put the GTE back to almost original Paint in the new year and then build it up and use it for the summer

Yeah wedding was end of November mate. So that and with Xmas coming up I’ve been working a lot. Not had a minute to do a thing. I’ll be taking some time off over Xmas so I will get some stuff down on it and hopefully get it to the body shop February time. Hoping to have it on the road this summer. Any updates on this?? And just read your due to marry about now !!!

I remember my Dad building one of these back up in the early 90's after a bad accident, sadly he scrapped it shortly after.
It's looking really nice so far, cannot remember the last time I saw a Nova GTE

My first car was an F reg 1.3 Sr. Bought it in 93, was stolen in Oxford in 96.
Loved that car. Miss it in fact.
F349BEG.
Great purchase and following with interest.

Even with the unpainted wings that looks bloody amazing for a Nova crossy10 And that is indeed a fair sized stash of GTE parts
