Where'd you get the badges from? The last ones I bought off ebay were toss. Just Ebay ones mate. Quality seems good. If they turn out not to be, I'll bite the bullet and buy some genuine ones from Saab (£20 each-ish I think). The rear badge was replaced tonight... To be honest, I'm not sure on the carbon fibre effect, but anything is better than what was there before. I might change it again for another solid black one, but for now I'm happy with the improvement.

So until I can work out whether I need/want to upgrade the exhaust system, I've just bought a nice little chrome tip to smarten up the rear end a bit more... It's all about the little touches.

Lovely condition that - I bought one to smoke around in recently although it is in much rougher condition. Regarding the SID - have a look on the Facebook Groups and you'll see plenty being broken ( ). I got a working SID unit for £20 posted which is much easier than faffing on changing the ribbon.

What's the gearbox like? I'm interested in the diesel version but don't know if I could go back to 5 gears. Does it need a 6th gear at motorway speeds?

I spent a bit of time cleaning the engine bay today. Looks a bit better... I used some 'stuff' on the front grille vanes. Compared to the others, you can see the second one from the top in this pic has been done... Gave it another coat of wax as well. I'm happy with how it's come on. A few little bits to sort, but as it's mechanically spot on, and now looking fine externally, there isn't too much to do but drive it and enjoy it. There's a small to do list... Replace the wiper blades Swap the orange front repeater bulbs for chromed ones New set of alloy wheel centre caps (ordered) Change the carbon fible effect rear boot badge with a solid black one (ordered) Sort the central locking New number plates Look at why the NSF window pane goes down wonky (broken clip I think) I'm not actually 100% convinced with the alloys actually. I know they are typically Saab (a fact that I like), but I'd prefer 16"s or 17"s. The 'Double Y' design appeals. Not sure yet. Oh, and I wash/waxed the Corolla, cut the front grass and did a final fitting for our wedding suits today as well....

Looks great, much better for your efforts. Perhaps remove the 'Saab' and '95' badges from the bootlid?

Engine bays looking well. That's something I need to do on both my cars. I must admit its a job I avoid doing usually just get a steam clean done or spray a load of Gunk on and wash it off. If you don't mind me asking how and what do you use to get the engine looking so tidy. With regard to the alloys the Hammerheads or Starmags do look great on the 9-5. As for driving the smaller wheels are soo much more comfortable, especially as a daily driver.

What will you do about the mixing pixels? Are you into your electronics, or is it a new unit?

What will you do about the mixing pixels? Are you into your electronics, or is it a new unit? Missing pixels are are diy fixed with various bodges or a new ribbon cable, or there are people who'll do it for you. A very common issue on 9-5 and 9-3, in fact I think it's unusual for one to have all the pixels present.

Oh for curse word sake I thought we were on detailing world there for a second..... Boring...... Haha, thanks for your contribution. We all love and appreciate different things mate. There's lots of different perspectives on this great forum. This is a 20 year old car which doesn't need a ton of welding, an engine swap, or slamming on its , so what I'm doing to it is sorting the little stuff to get it looking as good as it can. Feel free to move onto something that interests you. Lots of amazing builds to look at mate.

Nice find. Not jealous. At all. Seriously, a good looking motor, and low mileage. Has it had the sump drop? Assuming it's been serviced it should be ok for now but worth doing on a keeper. The Wheels are called hammeheads iirc, and the key location/reverse is something that catches the saab newbies out for a while. Confused my sister, and a couple of workmates who couldn't get the key out...... Gonna watch this one, what is the plan for it?

Don't like it, press back and move on, a lot of people like a well cleaned and detailed car as well as an older car. Oh for curse word sake I thought we were on detailing world there for a second..... Boring......
