I have to find a new engine for my Dad's Zafira
It's a 2004 1.8 16v automatic
Does anyone know if the engine from a manual transmission car will fit ok?

If you get another 1.8 from the same year\generation it should physically be the same engine\bellhousing. May just need to swap about brackets\sensors etc from existing to new as the auto setup may have some extra gubbins on it.

Bare block and head should be the same, IIRC a Z18XE or an X18XE1

The engine itself will be the same, the mapping may be different in the ecu from manual to automatic.

Hi, If there are differences it will likely be the end of the crank shaft ie. the spigot bearing.

Or to put it another way, you'll have all the bits you need to swap them over in theory.
