1998 Smart 42 left hand drive 10 months MOT, recently serviced Great runner and a right laugh to drive I believe it's the oldest one in the country and was owned by Reg Transfers Was black/yellow but the latter had faded so it's been wrapped in grey German style number plates Updated sump
(More details and pictures later)
I've hardly used the car as have four or five others and two motorbikes, so it's a waste just sat here not being used. Currently has a puncture in the o/s/r tyre, will try and get it fixed.
£595, offers welcomed when you've viewed it.
To save you asking, my 'best price' is several thousand pounds and your mum's knickers.
I might consider a cheap part-ex and cash my way, absolutely no VWs though please. Ideally I'd like a Berlingo or Kangoo car (not van) or a Vectra C hatch or estate.
I'm in Chester, perilously close to the M53/M56/A55/A56 and easy reach of M6.

Long time lurker here.
Possibly interested, with said Berlingo up my sleeve, and a very short hop over the border. Pics / details awaited
Cheers Chris

Cheekily copying what previous owner said about it! Bit of history It's had many pounds thrown at it its got a proper sump and a few niggles have been sorted by its former owners. £19 on a full tank of petrol! Engines great it has plenty of power drives well just serviced Feel free to come and have a good look round it or whatever!

I feel like i should've known that having worked on them before.. That makes these more appealing than they ever have been before..

Just to make it sound more desirable* the boost gauge isn't connected. It does light up though and looks ace.

WTAF. That's my old car. Why on earth has that been done to it? Not only is it one of the oldest in the country, it's one of the oldest surviving and all those panels were original - see through plastic, not black painted yellow. The fading was annoying, but it's chassis 647 - one of the first days of production. It's got a TCC chassis number, straight line heater elements (most recalled due to shattering windows) and had had a new clutch. Here's what it looked like before. I still have the bike rack, clock pod I got for it (the PCB doesn't have the connector on it, it's that early production) and a set of original launch brochures and MCC Smart investment prospectus with press releases for the prototype Smart. Presumably the wrap won't damage the plastic anyway, but I'm curious about that bit that looks like a cable tie on the front wing/panel. Drove brilliantly when I had it - 86,000km roughly. Had a blowout and was totally stable (nearside rear tyre is a few months old now, but Continental as it should be). Transverse leaf front end on this year and it rides on smooth roads much better than the coil sprung models.
