So stuck in the corner of my workshop is a clients Vespa in bits for paint - supplied to me shot blasted - just required a few welding repairs and a couple of brackets making up - then on with the prep
But not a straight panel on it
Ready for polyester
Ready for paint
Painted
The hanging gardens of Vespa bits
Not complaining but the problem with this type of work is getting clients understand the fact that it is very time consuming when compared to a car - all the parts are smallish - most being too small to prepare by machine sanding hence the vast majority of it is hand work - once hung ready for primer / paint the scooter takes up more room than the average car and you need somewhere to lay it all out where it wont get damaged until flatted / polished and collected - instead most owners think a scooter is circa a fifth the size of a car and therefore should be a few hundred quid to paint - how wrong they are ! - just need to flat and polish it sometime next week before it gets collected
