When i was a kid i had a gocart, like most of us. I think i was about 8 when i discovered the j40. I wished id had one instead of the basic kettler i had. All the time i kept seeing them at carshows while i was growing up, thinking how nice it would be to have one even though i couldnt drive it, and back then £100 would get you a very respectable example, but of course it was only just out of reach for me. But only just. but nowadays what with the desirability factor thanks to the Goodwood events I cant even afford a rotten one now! Id love to build up a ratty one over time just buying bits and pieces here and there but i can only imagine how much more the bits and pieces are going to rise in value over time.  A minter would be the ideal of course, but that'll do nicely! |

They didnt know what it was. I asked, and they sold it me for £25. I stripped it to start fixing it up but ended up selling it to my folks for £150. Stepdad restored it into probably the best j40 in the country at the time and sold it for £850 or £950, cant remember now. It was midnight blue and looked amazing. I think I was the only one who made a profit though  |

MkXYes, I believe so. They werent back then though. We got TOP TOP dollar for ours at the time. People had only just started fixing them up and repro parts had just become available. We has a professional bodyshop at our disposal so it was mint!
