Sooooo... with much regret I'm going to put this up for sale. I can't justify keeping it alongside the Legacy with a young family, a new job with longer commute and a new house. I know I'm going to miss it, and I also know it'll be one of those cars I look back on in 10-15 years time and kick myself for selling it when the values have shot through the roof!
Obviously I'm not letting it go for peanuts however so if nobody else wants it for the price I want for it, it'll just be laid up for a few years (part of me hopes this happens!)

Possible change of the plan for this now, I’m not getting the price I want for it (either due to the time of year or me being delusional) so I’m looking to keep it, at least for a while longer. New aim is to make it more usable so I can daily it/take my wife and daughter out in it, and maybe make it more desirable in future. So I bought some original black Recaros for it last night and drove 2 hours to pick then up. They were worth the drive as are in great condition which is rare for a 20 year old set of these, and weren’t suffering too badly from scene tax. I’ll be putting the rear seats back in too so i’ll update with photos once I can be bothered to go out in the cold and swap everything over

Makes perfect sense to me, these cars are practical all-rounders & limiting them to the track seems sad, better to enjoy them when you can.

You can still track a car with rear seats, you can't take the whole family out without them. Makes perfect sense to me!

My thoughts exactly, it’ll still be pretty hardcore, just a bit more practical.
In other news it turns out although I thought I SORNd it at the end of August, actually I didn’t. I did however cancel the direct debit and now our lovely government wants it’s money back, plus probably some kind of fine... one of the downfalls of owning 3 roadworthy cars is keeping up with the paperwork on them!

Update time! Finally spent a bit of time on this after moving house and getting everything else sorted. Removed the bucket seats and harness in preparation for fitting the Recaros. Refitted the drivers seat belt and untwisted the OSR belt which involved removing the interior rear quarter trim. This gave me an opportunity to have a look at the inside of my arches/rear quarters, mainly good news there as although it's far from new in there it's certainly not the rusty mess it could be. It looks like a previous owner has wisely chucked a load of waxoil in there which must have helped. Unfortunately that's as far as I got, so the next step is to refit all the original seats and give the whole interior a good clean. I'll refit a headunit as well and then move onto to sourcing the other interior parts in needs - a few bits of trim, ideally some new door panels as mine are looking their age and an interior lamp. I've sold my Legacy as well which means I'll be swapping the insurance on to this, hopefully by the end of February it'll be back on the road and getting some good use out of it!

More progress today, finished putting the interior back together - rear seats back in and the Recaros fitted - so the racecar is now a little less race and a little more car. Also sold my Mini (BMW, not classic) that I've been tooling around in so that neatly creates a space on the drive for the Integra to come home

Brought it home at the weekend, was really good to drive it again, although I had forgotten how hard the coilovers are on this. I’ve given it a quick wash as it was filty but it actually needs a damn good polish, the front wings are little bit stained with dirt! Fitted a headunit to make it a little more comfortable for long drives and yesterday I took it for a 100 mile round trip to work. Very impressed with how reliable it is considering it’s sat unused for 6 months and all I’ve had to do was top up the oil and tyre pressures.

to be honest though the standard seats are fantastic, and more racecar than 75% stuff at track days

They're hugely comfortable but still very supportive. I forgot to add some photos on the last post so here's some from the other weekend.

Whereabouts is that old cathedral/church located?
Those seats look great- seem to have no wear on the bolsters which is amazing for their age!
There is a mint fresh one of these type Rs parked up each day in Nelson- used as a daily. Same seats but red. Looks so classy and classic among the sea of moderns even though it itself is not really that old.

I'm lucky enough to have it on one of my routes to work! Yeah the drivers bolster is a little soft but other than that they're great, they do sell for silly money second hand though. Not uncommon for people to ask £1000 for the yellow ones that came in the few rare yellow Integras!
