My sister and my brother-in-law have one each. Strangely they love them! Will agree on earlier Mondeos. Very surprised to see a k-reg Peugeot 309 the other day, there's still a few 406s around but 405s are lacking (most to Africa I think?) I grew up in the 90's so this is all my normal childhood cars that I'd see regularly. I probably know them if they're car club people.

I must live in Retro Heaven - off the top of my head among my neighbours cars in daily use are a MKI Focus saloon, a 406, a 106, an M reg E class Mercedes and a MK1 Renault Laguna and that's just the ones around me, probably loads of others on the estate...
It is weird when you see something like a MKI Mondeo though and it suddenly makes you think "You don't see them anymore"

A guy at work uses a standard 406 coupe as his daily driver. His second one in recent years after selling the original one and will probably get another if required.

Yeah, they're part of the UKPOC I think it is, seem to spend lots of time standing in carparks near Scarborough Me and Jace (b-i-l) about 8 years ago went from York to Tavistock in Devon and back in a day in my old Bluebird to pick up a proper shed of a Probe he'd won on eBay for about £50. That was a long day!

On the way home tonight I am going to count the 90's stuff that's legally moving as I pass on my 50 miles home. My car... that's 1. So here are the live results: over 5miles of urban roads with light traffic and 45miles of motorway with medium traffic I saw the following fellow pre 00's motorists: 1996 P golf with steelies and lows 1998 S 206 190e Merc, couldn't see the plate 1993 L MX5 also down in the weeds and undergoing body surgery 1993 L Defender 1999 V Rover 200 1968 G Lotus Elan 1997 R 106 with fetching 'turbo' badge on tailgate 1999 T Corolla Thought I got lucky with a Morgan but it was a 2011. A worthwhile exercise I'm sure.

On family road trips we make a game of spotting cars older than ours. Sometimes we reach double figures.

Must just be N London cos appart from the odd rarety i see loads of 90's cars, every day, walked past a citroen BX TZD yesterday, hadn't seen one for a few months, hang around council estates you'll see loads of old tat The reason i rarely put them on the spotted thread is cos there are so many, i did try once taking pics of all the pre90's cars within 1/2 a mile of me but i'd have been at it all day and filled the memory card over and over i saw a S2 RS turbo in Nazing today being driver by a pensioner, it was mint (white g reg). Mind you owning all 90's cars (106, mk1 mondeo, Mk6 escort, Mk3 fiesta) and servicing a fair few (probe, atsras, 2 406s, lots and lots of mercs, polos, Mk1/2 golfs, 2 sierras and a jag or 3) i think i'm primed to see them, my kids call it my spidey sense or wibblepoo spotters disease as the ex wife used to call it

Great, if you're after a silver one haha. I'm not into French cars at all, but I do like the lines of these 406 coupes.

The more I look at them the less they remind me of the Ferrari 456 and the more they remind me of the Venturi Atlantique, just needs a vent on the rear wings.

The 190 isn't that rare, you still see those bumbling about doing their thing. The Mini is even more commonplace, so much so I generally don't even bother getting my camera out when I see one. A Metro, on the other hand, I will be reaching for the camera as those are far less common a sight than the Mini that they were supposed to replace. Even Rover 100s get my attention.

There used to be a Renault 21 Executive on my road when I lived in London, the seats looked like the most comfortable thing ever.

Funny over the last few days I've seen a Saab 900 classic, 205, Xantia, a G reg boxy Panda and on the way home in the pouring rain toaday a Calibra. There's also a 406 and a 90's Carina near me. Apart from my own haven't seen a Saab 9000 in the wild for years.

Just been thinking again don't see many e34 or e36 BMWs although one of each lives down the road from me. Can't even think the last time I saw an e38 7 series. Another couple of 90s machines I've seen over the last few days are mk3 Astra, 940 Volvo and early Imprezza.
