SR20 from and almera/primera. Only real expensive part is the custom shafts I spoke with the guys at Fury Autoworx, seem to have a few very silly Micras under their belt. I suggested either a turbo MA12 using the Figaros manifolds, a CG13 or an SR20. They suggested the CG as the best option, as with a turbo will see off 130-150hp no issue. The SR in their opinion isn't worth it given the 200kg weight that comes with it. Just getting some quotes with them and the car should be able to go under the knife in the near future.

Okay, so everything is organised, Fury have found a suitable donor local to them. We've got a trip to the states next week, car will be heading off for surgery as soon as we get back. Quoted around 6 weeks for the swap, so car available towards the end of June, watch this space To save the effort of having whats left of the engine grenade itself, we're going to hire a flatbed to move it, best quote of £105 for the day, so if anyone can suggest any flatbed rentals in the midlands for less I'm all ears!

So we returned from the States yesterday, to find that someone had very kindly re-arranged the rear end of the Fig The car is due to be dropped with Fury tomorrow, the chap running the show mentioned there is a body shop near him that he has used a lot, and has asked them to come view the car while its in their shop, if the quote comes in cheap enough we'll get them to do that once the engine is in.

I'm excited to see what the engine swap brings, but I'm so sorry that people have to be aholes. This is why I'm antisocial.

It begins, eta is 6 weeks from now, but will be having weekly updates. CG13DE+T is the weapon of choice, estimate 130-150hp when its done

Old engine is out after some slight delays at the start owing to other cars having issues. In regular contact with the owners at fury. CG13 has been mocked in ready to assess mountings and such like. Hubs and driveshafts all removed together for the k11 items to go in, very exciting times

Slow progress might be annoying, but it is one of the great constants in these kind of things. Personally I do hate it, but I'd rather something be done right than fast and patchy, and the guys there seem to be worth the extra time. Really looking forward to the next steps and the test drive report

I'll be following the other half in my 182 when we collect, keen to see how the fig pulls on the motorway in comparison as the power to weight should be fairly similar.

Be careful there are no Corsa B's nearby when you try it

GT15 seems a pretty small turbo for a 1.3?

GT15 seems a pretty small turbo for a 1.3? Bigger than the one that came out of it! Space is a premium in the Figaro, so can't afford to go too mad. Fury have a lot of experience with Micras and turbocharging them, this was one of the recommendations so I'm letting them work their magic!

Gt15 should go well. Decent boost from low down.
Great to see somone doing something good with one. My Mrs is after one so hopefully will have a chance one day. She needs to pass her test first tho lol!

She needs to pass her test first tho lol! Thats the idea, I asked what they were planning for the turbo, they said usually a TD04 or a GT15, the TD04 coming in later but with higher peak power, and the GT having good boost early in the rev range, but tailing off towards the top. With the other halfs driving style (and her getting used to the low down torque of my 182) I figured the latter was the better option.

I haven't had much by way of updates as the car has been a challenge, but I do have some fun bits Awaiting first start up now. Lord knows if it will be ready for RRG, Fury are pulling out all the stops to get it done for Saturday. We've had a few hiccups along the way which put the car back but they're working hard to bring back the lost time. We shall soon see.
