Today I removed the mud flaps which left holes in the rear bumper so thats come off and gone to be painted. Also removed the overly large spoiler as the RA actually came without a spoiler from the factory, i prefer it anyway. Aslo removed and sold the OMP buckets seats and fitted my Carbon super light Bride bucket seat instead. One problem i cant reach the pedals very well so adjustable seat rail required. Need to treat and paint behind the bumper clearly on the corners so will attend to that over winter.

Great choice. Same year and colour as my old WRX and those lightweight RA's really do fly. I think every RA I've seen was white. Oddly enough, when mine landed from Japan it also had Nardi wheel and Nardi gear stick (a few other toys as well) Actually, scratch that. Mine was a '96 on an 'N' - I'm guessing that's a private plate. (NICE TRY)?

I stole the wheel from my skyline which I'm breaking for parts. Yes quite possibly a private plate.

An excellent choice for a project car; will watch this with interest.
Need to wake mine up from its slumber soon, it's been sat at the side of the garage for too long.

Lovely looking example. I wanted one of these so badly back in the day (lived a stones throw from Bell & Colville and my Uncle worked at Prodrive!). Still hanker after one that's nice and original which is a task these days. A Series McRae/Catalunya or RB5 would be my choice (Terzo at a stretch). I like the editions, can you tell! I see you mention the block being STI but is the car itself an STi? I'm guessing not as I thought the STi RA's had the roof vent and DCCD? Sub'd and looking forward to the updates, the spoiler delete defo gets a thumbs up from me.

Funnily enough i worked in the carbon side of Prodrive about 4 years ago but my Dad had a scooby in the early 90's which mate me fall in love with them to start with. Correct this is just an RA with an STi engine. As you say most STi RA's has DCCD and a roof vent although the very early ones just had a roof vent.

Found some 2nd hand whiteline ARB's through Sprinting Hare JDM. ARB's were the best upgrade i did to my last RA so really pleased to find these at a good price.

The Scooby went off to Rose Race Cars over the weekend ready for its winter build.I'm just waiting on him to solve the rough running issue before i chuck a load of money at it.

Bit of an update on the running issue. Few codes found including 02 sensor so ordering a new one today, hopefully this will solve the issue and we can crack on building the car.
Couple of things I will need for track to ensure the engine will be reliable. Firstly a baffled sump plate which I have ordered from Sprinting Hare JDM. A fuel swirl pot setup is also required to prevent surge when you have under half a tank of fuel, My old RA used roughly a quarter of a tank for every 20min session so a swirl pot is a must.
My 3rd vlog has some Impreza content so check it out.

Also had to steal the steering wheel from my Skyline which is a Nardi with a slight dish. We found a few minor oil leaks on the engine so we think the best thing to do is just whip it out, take it apart and rebuild it to be sure so that's under way now. Latest Vlog also up with some impreza content along with a quick look at some Audis and other J cars

Sorry for the lack of updates but have been getting our track rental cars ready whilst Rose Race cars do my Subaru. Purchased a really nice sump baffle plate from Roger Clark Motorsport, excellent service with next day delivery so thanks to them for that. Our first trackday is Feb 9th Castle Combe so we better get a shift on.

Always fancied a mk1.
Out of all the boxer engines (legacy's as well) apart from the 22 which one is the best- Is it the EJ20?
One of the few I've never owned. Looking good mate.
