2.8 V6 bargain luxobarge? Yes. Cream/Blue interior? No. God no. Really enjoy your threads showing all the small jobs that can really tidy up a car. She is looking a lot better already after just a wash/detail. Best of luck with it. Thanks mate. Ref the interior colour combo, I absolutely love it.

My wife and I decided recently to work for ourselves, and pack in our 'normal' jobs. We are opening up a coffee shop in Saltburn in the New Year, so there won't be weekends spare to take the caravan away. Hence the sale of both the caravan and Discovery. Is that the coffee shop you mentioned some weeks ago? To jump or not to jump? Good luck with this new adventure. I am sure it will work out for you. I just had a "google" look at Saltburn. Must be a nice place to be. Yes, that's 'that' coffee shop! I really must update that thread, as loads has happened since.

Loving the new fleet addition, especially the colour combo and how well its cleaned up! Good luck with the new venture, be sure to drop some details as I'd love to head down for a coffee- its a nice little drive to Saltburn. James.

Take a photo in twilight with all the interior lights on. Foot wells, doors, the lot. With that interior I guarentee its the warmest, cosiest looking interior ever and you won't be able to consider selling it. Random but you will see what I mean. 😀
I loved my A6 Allroad and regret replacing it - such a well built car and a nice place to eat up the miles.

Washed the A6 today. Unbelievably for me, due to working long hours sorting the coffee shop, it's been a month since it was clean. Anyway, I realised I hadn't even popped the bonnet and looked at the engine yet. So I did. And I like what I saw. Always loved the look of these lumps... Filled the screen wash up, but it was slow going into the tank, so I took the filter out and cleaned it down... Love this car. Certainly doesn't look nearly 21 years old.

Indeed not. Cracking motor. Like I said, if it was the estate I'd be dead jealous.

My father-in-law has recently had an A6 Allroad, slightly newer than this one, but absolutely loves it. I had the earlier straight 5 tdi A6, and loved that too. They are just wonderful places to munch miles in.

This has inspired me to start a thread on my '99 A4 Avant with the same engine. Yesterday I found a nail in the tyre on my wife's daily (Isuzu double cab) - so whacked the roof box on the Audi and 200 faultless miles with 2 kids, 2 dogs and a million presents down to the in-laws in Exeter. I was secretly pleased because it's so much nicer to be in than the Isuzu 😀

It's an amazing car, my parents bought one the exact same combo off Arnold Clark himself back in 1998, when you think of selling it please pm me as I loved it.

They are just wonderful places to munch miles in. Still have a C4 A6 with S5 TDI in 140bhp flavour. Had in 14 years and have done 200k in myself. Total now stands at 306k. 'Tis a fine machine and tough too - though is starting to show signs of use! Nick

Since we decided to sell the Discovery, my private plate was just on retention. A bit of a waste really, so I decided to put it on the A6. My one hesitation was that as these cars are ageing well (in my opinion anyway), losing the R plate was going to make the car look 10 years old rather than it's true 20 years old. Anyway, it's done, and it looks canny...

You for sure know how to wash a car. That Rover looks very good. What kind of stuff do you use?

I will follow up, time permitting, with Harleys Wax, but today was just a wash with Meguirs Gold Class shampoo and Autoglym Tyre Dressing.
