I saw it on Instagram the other day, when you built it and also when you got it and thought this aught to be good. Wasn't disappointed. It's a fun model and looks good for the modification. I need to crack on with my Dekotora artic really. Chassis was twisted and I've only just got round to jigging it.

I know someone else building a dekotora lorry too - was yours damaged in the post?

This is brilliant, i havn't made a model in years, and sadly i've got the best part of two or three hundred that I've collected in the loft, I really need to get around to building some of them!

I made a jig from plywood to straighten it back out. Should be fine, then I can crack on with it

Blimey that’s some collection, i did find it nice being able to build something in the comfort and warmth of a lounge with a drink rather than crawling on the drive in the winter.

This project seems to be a bank holiday special, having sat around in the above condition for three months I took it to the next level yesterday. Wheels and windows masked... 1200 wet and dry used dry to give a light scuff ... Wiped over with water and dried off before a light spray of random primer lying around... Left in the sun for thirty minutes at 22 degrees. Then sanded with 2000 grit wet next time, washed and dried. First coat of rattle can premixed brown to same colour as Acty... Second coat 20 minutes later and moved to shed to avoid picking up dust from garden games.... Over an hour later I carefully unmasked the wheels and windows, one thing I annoyed myself with was not using a blade around each window edge as a bit of paint peeled off the b pillar where it decided to go with the masking tape. I I’ve gone around the window borders with a sharpie now so looks tidier allround since above photos. Next plan is to paint headlight surrounds and bumper in gloss black.

Bumper, headlights, headlight surrounds in gloss black nail varnish. Reflective / light up bits of headlights added with silver marker.

This, and the Model of my 'A' thread, reminds me I've got a Tamiya MX5 kit and some additional parts to build into a (near) replica of my car.

The next builds arrived today, I also have an unphotographed motocompo to build... The Honda stepvan will be lowered on the Advan wheels using the same technique as my Acty albeit I’ll paint the shell before glueing it to the chassis this time! The suzuki hustler is for mini minty to build - it’s a click together kit so no glueing or painting required so it will be left standard unless easy mods can be achieved.
