To the designer of the Carlton, and many other cars I realise -
Why on earth would you fit drains to take the salty road spray from around the sunroof, and have the front drain tubes exit inside the sills ?
Would it really have been difficult to have them exit outside of the cars shell like the rear drain tubes do, and now my front ones do. Dear Mr Opel, if you cant understand this I'll even show you.

Dearest SAAB 900 designer. Whilst I really enjoy working and driving your vehicles, Why on earth did you decide to create a HUGE bracket made out of metal, cut beautifully and shaped to fit around the heater footwell output pipe, when a simple tie-wrap would of been fine? Over time, the heater pipes get squashed by this metal contraption, and I am sure the relay doesn't appreciate the heat either.

To the designers of the mk1 Focus: why did the3 teams who clearly designed the front, rear and fittings of the bodywork separately not talk to each other, except to brag about how ugly their part was? That includes the interior designers too. My mother owned hers for 14 years, and I still can't get over how hideous the thing was.
The current one isn't much better, except for the interior; the designer clearly ate too much cheese, and should have had his eyes poked out with his crayons long before the design was complete.

I can answer this one. It is a deliberate ploy to make the car rust out even faster than it ordinarily would so you have to buy another new car sooner.

Mr Nissan
There are other questions, but why on earth did you feel the need to put 11 cup holders in my car? (Cube)

Mk1 golf designers, why aren't there any flat surfaces in the car to rest my cup? I have to rest my drink between my legs and pretty much always end up spilling it in my lap so it looks like I have the bladder control of a toddler

WHY Mr Issigonis have Morries got THREADED kingpins!!!!! Fortunately both times I've had the bottom arm drop off was in a carpark, although the second time why it didn't fail when doing things I shouldn't confess to- gravel roads & handbrake come to mind 20 minutes earlier- is beyond me!

John Delorean, why did you allow a certain film trilogy use your car, so that every Rick (with a silent P) that walks up to you, makes some ref. to the film.......... oh yeh & the best bit is they all think they are first to mention it.

I think it might have had something to do with him either flying from Colombia with a massive suitcase full of Toot, being on the run from the Feds and the DEA or trying to hide from hairy-backed B-Wing Bubba The Rapist in the shower block . He was entirely too busy to be suing Zemeckis for trademark infringement

Dear sir
The speaker grilles on the door made of biscuit are precisely where the lanky among us give the door a wee push open with our toes whilst getting out of mk2 golf 3drs
Why did you choose rich tea rather than decent plastic/metal/anything?
Kind regards Buyer of speaker grilles in bulk

Richard Oakes: When designing the Midas, perhaps you could've done the top front shock mount a little different? 2 bolts, each with a welded on "D" shaped washer inside a fibreglass box section are a pain in the butt when they need replacing. And replacing those 2 bits of rusty garbage with 2 bolts welded to a longer piece of steel spreader plate makes for a stronger and longer-lived design, but getting it inside the box section without cutting anything is an absolute curse word. Took me about 5 hours in total to do both.
Consider yourself reprimanded...

This would be to Sir William Lyons, 'Mr Jaguar'. He had a reputation for being hard-nosed, penny-pinching & a little Machiavellian but I'd have to ask "How on earth did you do it? How could you churn out one iconic car after another for decades? Where did you find the inspiration and drive to stay at the cutting edge of automotive engineering for so long?" Lyons retired and the cars he hadn't had a hand in designing became instantly identifiable as blander and more staid and the better looking Jags these days have all been designed with a nod to the glory days.

To one of the boffins at bmw who designed my E61 530d, why make a massive void under the brake servo and on the other side under a box of electrics, if you’re going to put the tiniest drain hole in 2” ABOVE the bottom!!
