A test mule, I really hope not as that’s my most feared vehicle description It reminds me of the College workshop cars when I was there. One was an ex development (or something similar) XR2i with very low miles. A pretty desirable car today but It spent its whole life indoors being ripped apart and bolted back together (usually badly and minus a bolt/clip or screw each time) by us kids. I for one hope that car never finds it’s way onto the road again let alone in an auction described as unregistered, 1 owner, low mileage..... Was that Norwich city college by any chance? Indeed! You will also remember the V6 Renault Safrane, that’s sole purpose was to be red lined from cold (it did sound good) as much as possible before Dave Batell screemed at you to stop! Aaah happy days. Oh...and the travesty that was ripping a lovely lotus esprit S3 apart to mount the body on the wall of a room nobody could see and leaving the rolling (on original BBS rims) chassis in a car park and the engine under a tarp.

Yeah it sure was a stupid thing putting the Lotus on the wall, especially tucked away in a classroom - they could at least have put it in a communal area where everyone could have seen it. I remember the Safrane, it did have a great sound but don’t think I ever got to work on it unfortunately. I think there was a Rover 800 there too? I wonder what happened to all those cars when they shut it down?

We had Rovers and Peugeot’s at our college, ex development cars donated by Longbridge and Coventry. All low/delivery mileage but could never have gone back on the road and had to be crushed after use due to their history and some law.

I hope the new owner of the above 7 series doesn’t find that out the hard way? If indeed it has been used as suggested. Might explain why it’s been through several hands and still remains unregistered....

^ A very good point!
It's great how the knowledge of this forum has shown that what (on paper) could be the ultimate low-miler Beemer might actually be a complete nightmare.
Well done guys.
