i was gonna say "whip out" was an interesting description well done on getting it ready and passed. i do get nervous at MOT's, its weird, i'm not scared of it failing because i have means to fix it, i think its just the psychology of being criticised

Rejection sucks. Fixing it is fine as you say. Well done on the pass, you have certainly earned it.

Funny, I had a time with overlapping ownership of a Subaru Legacy 2.5 Estate, Land Rover 90 and Range Rover P38. The latter two, yes like the expectant father, despite knowing they were going in good. The former, I just stuck it in expecting a pass.

Clutch kit arrived so I took the seats and the seatbox out, then the floors, then the gearbox. New clutch fitted and then everything back. It makes it slightly more work to get the gearbox out as it has a hydraulic pump fitted to the back of the gearbox for things like a tipper trailer etc but anyway, its all done and took 2 days.

Its at a stage now where I am happy with it. We have another baby due in about 8 weeks time so the Land Rover is now for sale. I also have my twink Anglia project that I want to get on with...….Thanks for watching.

Bye Bye Land Rover, its gone to a lovely bloke, for him and his young son to enjoy time in together and then give to his son when he is 17. This means my wife will now get a christams present - it was touch and go for a minute but thankfully the piggy bank has been added to. It also means I can do a bit more to the workshop. I decided to give the outside parking/turning area a bit of attention. Saturday and Sunday saw making some shuttering and concreting the ramp into the workshop, preparation and kerb laying and this morning I have been moving 10T of planings about. Another 10T to come later.

The other load of planings came as planned. Got them all spread out and then went over the whole area with the whacker and then filled any low areas and whacked again. Not perfect by any means but at least I can walk over the area without breaking my ankles. Its perfectly good enough as a sub base ready for something to go on top when ive finished the 1001 other jobs. Also I bought a 2.0 blacktop which will be delivered sometimes over xmas, to go into my angle box. Don't really need the engine yet as there will be much welding to do but I saw it so bought it.

Updates on their way...doesn't time fly? Anglia has been and gone, baby number 2 arrived (wont go into the ins and outs of that one though ) and something else has arrived to take the place of the Anglia. The Anglia went so I could be sensible, now with 2 kids, and have some notes in my pocket. Oh well, the sensible head didn't stay on too long and Mrs E liked what I found so "those" notes changed hands and that was that.

No worries Elky. I'll drop you a text next week and see how you're fixed in the near future. Should be a fairly quick in and out. Famous last words PS: Might be buying a new nightmare to worry about soon!

Not a day after bringing the heap home I decided to start to strip it down. I like patina but this had no paint left on it, the doors have some primer but that's it. The rear wings are very dented and creased and with lots of splits in, the wire edge the makes up the profile of the bottom edge was also the incorrect shape and was in pieces. A picture of it still complete. So the plan is to paint it, but I'm not going to spend the next 6 months of evenings making the body perfect (or close to it at least). I'm sure a few of you will say if you are going to the trouble of painting it, then the body should be straightened up as well. But its an old truck which will get used and abused, so the dents (improvements will be made on the dents though) will stay. However the metal work will be prepared for paint properly so the paint wont fall off next year - that's the plan anyway...more once ive painted my daughters nails.
