Hi,
I'm after some help and advice on valuing a Beetle for a friend. Its a LHD import first registered in 1984. Registration: MEF 638J
DVLA site states MOT ran out 1985, there no paper work with the vehicle other than the logbook so I assume its been off the road since then. The current owner bought it as a project but as is so often the case lost interest and its been sat in his unit since 2014. It has various new panels (front wing, front valence, rear valence) I think some of the panels in the engine bay are new too. Other panels look to be original?
There are loads of spare parts - engine components, starter motors, flywheels, trims, lights etcetcetc (see photos)
He has fully rebuilt a 1.6 engine for it, he never fitted it as it needs a 1.6 flywheel? the one he has is for a 1.2 or 1.3. It also comes with some Baja style alloy wheels. The convertible roof is included its not attached looks fairly good condition - assume its not the original but a remake considering the vehicles age.
The car is in bits currently with the chassis and body just resting on top of each other, its certainly a big project for an enthusiast or even if you just need some spare parts may be worthwhile.
As I have limited knowledge of the car, ill let pictures do the talking:

Some of welding that has been carried out:

Ill try and pull the car out of storage unit so I can get pictures of the other side, pull some of the parts out the containers etc. Any help valuing the car would be appreciated! Well and truly out of my comfort zone with Volkswagen stuff!
