Hi RR,
I'm putting a type r engine in my maestro van, I've come to the problem of the fuel tank. The van was a diesel with mechanical pump so the standard fuel tank just has a sender hole. I'm using civic clocks and would like a working fuel gauge, though I would give it up. I've bought a civic tank thinking I might be able to put it in the standard van position but its bloody huge! This leaves me with 2 options.
1 - Use the standard van tank, with a inline pump, or even modify it to use a drop in pump as its flat. The exhaust is very close to it however (See pictures), asking for trouble with hot exhaust and metal petrol tank 1" away?
2 - Use the civic tank but put it in the load bay. Would loose a little space but don't mind tbh, is there any rules / regs on this?
What are people's opinions and what would you suggest?
