Well this one was a bit of an impulse purchase. As always I was idly browsing through the usual sites seeing if there was anything cheap and interesting available when a friend on Facebook posted this picture.
With the status, not sure what to do with it? I sent him a message asking how much he wanted expecting the usual ford scene tax to be applied. But I was quite surprised by his response, £700 and he suggested I can and had a look so at 8 o’clock last Sunday I decided to bob round and have a gander! Now some might think £700 is a lot for a non running mk2 fiesta which has been off the road for 5-6 years and it probably is lol. But the price of fords of this era is forever on the increase. I like mk2 fiestas it’s a rare model in fairly good condition all being told and comes with a huge amount of spares probably worth the value of what I paid for the car! And the cheapest one I’ve seen for sale else where was £600 for a smashed shell of a grass track car. All the normal cars were £1000+ with lots of rust. So I’m happy
Anyway we shook on a deal to deliver the car for the asking price and tonight was the day it arrived.
In its new home for now
Next to the MX5
A few random shots from around the car
It’s not in bad nick just needs a couple of small welding jobs which are straight forward.
The engine has only recently been put back in so needs plumbing in and wiring up.
I need to source an exhaust and a drivers side headlight and that’s about it 😀
It came with a huge amount of spares
More than a full set of spare glass and rubbers. Door seals, lights, cam followers, vernier pully, full xr2 body kit, boot, passenger door, spare clocks and interior bits
It’s fitted with brand new spax shocks and springs. A new Kent CVH22 cam (fitted)
I love it even the colour lol. Can’t wait to get working on it
