I’ve hit things fairly hard this year after spending most of last year tidying up a shitstorm, and things are really happeneing because of it.
I moved on a Packard last month I’d basiclaly bought as a parts car, which meant some space back.
The bagged shoebox I’m building for a friend is coming on apace. Will be hitting the road (literally) by the summer.
The ‘47 truck on the ranger chassis is also coming on quickly and should also be on the road by the summer.
Lupo now runs again and is only a couple of days spannering off being totally fixed.
Eunos has had a few bits replaced for MOT and rewarded me be shitting it’s alternator 🙄 still, an easy if inconvenient fix.
The Lincoln Continental coupe is now out of storage and at the workshop so I can assess what parts I need to order.
And there’s been big leaps forward with parts sourcing for the shakotan laurel and falcon sedan delivery.
I’ve even been chipping away with the metalwork on the full kustom ‘48 Chevy.
Feels good that things are happening.

Managed to cut down the fleet at the start of this year, Kangoo van is gone, SJ is gone, but then the Patrol was bought, and I bought the corrado as a 'daily' So as a matter of fact, no, no I have not managed to cut the fleet down I am still contemplating getting rid of either the first corrado or perhaps the mk2 golf, which would cut down the project list, my main thing this year is to get onto the property ladder, which ties back to car related, as i'm hoping for a big garage/workshop so I can start making a lot more progress on things.... Hopefully something comes up soon....

Looking forward to seeing some of your posts soon. I loved reading about the shoebox and y-blocks, as well as the laurel.

Well both dailies flew through the mot this month so off to a good start. Not a single advisory on either!
Volvo going (is) up for sale, mrs has bought a dog walking van/mpv (partner teepee) so golf+ will be my main car.
Done nothing on the mk2, hopefully this will change this year but will see, going to be a weird year this. Probably need to spend a couple of months decluttering everything we own so that will probably hold mk2 work up.
So plans are going as expected.

First job on my list was a couple of hours to to tidy up some stone chips on the sill of my TR7, doing so I found a small (20p sized) area of rust, welding that caught the wax inside the sill alight which damaged the wiring and carpets, so I had to pull the dash etc to fit a new wiring harness, on taking the carpets out I found cracks around the rear suspension mountings, so all of that had to be cut out replaced and strengthened, when I pulled the rear suspension the mountings on the axle were rusty, the springs broken and bump stops fell to pieces, Just about at the point where I can start putting it all back together now (and the sill is still not painted!).
Fortunately the Range rover passed it's MOT with no issues, need to do something about the radiator grille which fell off and then was driven over (remains held on with tie wraps for now) and a few minor trim bits need tidying but that is about it.
The TR does mean the jobs I had planned for the others (replace bent front subframe on MX5, new rear axle bushes on Streetka, stem some of the oil leaks on the Lotus and fit the bumpers to the minor ) are all still waiting.
Oh and I somehow manged to end up laying a new patio as well.

Lots of plans, all blown out of the water by the disaster of a snapped valve spring in the vxr8, the engine is toast. This means finances are very bad and I can't do the planned work on my silver Carlton as it's my only useable car. Not a good start to the year.

After reading some of these responses, I somehow don't feel that guilty anymore Its fair to say that many have cracked on and made progress and then there are the others like me At the moment I have the following vehicles consuming the little spare time available: Ford F100 Lexus LS400 Merc 200 cdi Fiat Doblo Opel Corsa pick up Renault Master and the project trike! All taxed etc
By the end of summer the Lexus,Opel and trike should be gone! (well thats the plan)

I realised my E34 project had grown a bit out of control so I did a bit of an about face and am now breaking it.. That's a shame, enjoyed reading through your build thread for this. Good luck with the MG though Desperate to get the Mk2 out as I haven't really done anything on since last September (life admin!). Busy researching ITBs! It'll either be at the gathering or in bits if I've torn it apart again

This year I must sort out the MX5, at least get it to a stable structure (sills etc). Then need to finish off the brakes; sort out handbrake, replace front calipers and discs, and fit braided lines. Then I'll treat it to a new ECU... and do some track days.
Short term goal would be to drive it to the weekender but not sure that's realistic.
Need to sort out the garage as well so I've got a work area (no way will the car ever go in it) and/or find some barn space.
This all assumes that the Alfa doesn't do something silly and cost me yet more money (or the Discovery come to that), both need new tyres some time soon.

The Sunny went to namless at Custom Restore, which threw up some more things that should and could be done better, as well as meaning I needed to make some decisions on things like widening arches or wheels or both. So that feels positive. The Porsche which I bought last April and I still need to do a video (but probably not a thread) about, needs some suspension work and I've been putting it off as I'm dreading the cost, but then I'm clearly not going to do it myself. The Volvo C30 daily STILL needs new wheels and some body work repairing, from reversing out of the garage and it being low enough to catch on the threshold. The Impreza wagon is now retired from active duty as my lovely wife got a new car ((new shape)Mini Clubman). I kind of want to do a one day RR Project car with this, I've got ideas which won't cost the earth and should be fun. Just seeing how cash flow goes! My BIG aim for this year was to get the garage ship shape, and document the process in the Garage Life section. So far I've done NOTHING and I'm pretty annoyed with myself. Will start this Friday! 100%

I had planned to be sensible and stick with the very dependable Rover as a good back up just in case the Princess proved not to be quite so dependable. Then a BX appeared so I sold the Rover to acquire the BX. The BX had burst suspension pipes and an amount of rust to weld up, no history (other than what the very nice previous owner could tell me about the car), and was totally untested.
Now that I have two cars with a reputation for exploding suspension and rampant rot I'm sure I can tackle anything 2019 decides to throw at me. At least until I buy another car. Really want to dip my toe into pre-war ownership soon.

This year has been strange! Firstly, the 2CV got the chop. Sad times, but you need to keep an eye on space, and cash. And I'll really need to keep an eye on cash now! Why? I have bought a W108 280SE 4.5, which I'm currently getting roadworthy and then registered. What this means is the Merc has gone. I really wanted to keep it, but it just made little sense with the mileage I cover these days. A lovely car, but it's gone to a good home. What's more? The M3 now may be able to have some of the niggling things done, but that will depend on how the W108 treats me. Christ, those spares make the M3's look reasonable! Oddly the M3 hasn't become a daily! It will be used at a daily at times, but that's about it. For now, a 2005 Audi A3 (8P) 2.0 PD TDI in SE spec shod with a DSG 'box has become a new daily driver. I'm still trying to forget about the W124 but we shall see. Yup, I do miss that W124 already.

Slow but steady captain! I never set myself a finish date so any work is progress toward the goal though progress may be slowed by the possibility of a house/garage move/consolidation in the next few months should SWMBO and her mother approve. I need to update the thread too as that's behind.

I don't usually make any progress so can't normally comment on these types of thread but HOLD YOUR HORSES.
Good News;
I can finally get shot of my leased Fiesta this year
I have acquired an e36 with a straight 6.
Bad News;
I need a liver transplant and am weak as a particularly weak kitten
I need to move the Teenage Dirtbag MX-5 on, I'm not ever going to get it going again, and my mum is probably going to smother me if it stays on the driveway much longer. So look out for a for sale thread soon!

The Polo turned out to be even more rotten than I thought.
So I bought another, this time a GT spec breadvan. It's very very solid but cosmetically challenged, which means I get to do fun jobs and maintenance and not soul destroying rust repair!

Plans change so fast in my head I can't remember what I originally planned for this year I've dugout the M5 to get back on the road for this seasons shows and I wasn't planning that I've had to find a new job and I wasn't expecting that I'm not sure if the new job will help with getting projects done a bit quicker or whether it will slow things down

Got the scrapper out of winter storage although there’s still a few jobs that need tackling before I can get regular use out of it, sold the Saab 9-3 at the back end of last summer so there is a space on the drive at the moment, not sure what to fill it with at present. Oh and I’ve broken my Sinclair C5. 😳

So I honestly thought this year I wouldn’t be buying anymore cars or projects Escort van is done , the boys fiesta mk3 is coming along And my daily W211 merc is fine for everyday stuff But sadly I lost my uncle and great friend John four weeks ago to cancer Whilst being devastated at his untimely death at just 64 I told my aunt I had to have one of his classic cars before they were all sold off , so I’ve now become the owner of his beloved mgf, the rover p5 coupe he owned and we had for our wedding 10 years ago will be readied for sale soon I’ve nowhere to put the mgf, but my mrs knows how much my uncle meant to me she encouraged me to have it I will be bringing it home from its present storage in the next few weeks RIP uncle john, gone but never forgotten
