Are you going to run that as it is once the mechanicals are refreshed? Looks perfect Thanks. To be honest, I'm not sure if it is a keeper yet. If it does stay then I'll keep it as is for the foreseeable, with a long term plan of restoring it for my daughter once she is old enough to drive.

Celica gone and Mini and Escort with wheels off and up on blocks awaiting my return in the distant future. 2019 looks like being devoid of Retro Rideness.

My year has been an interesting one! I started with the following. -'87 Citroen 2CV6 Special -'95 Mercedes E320 Estate -'03 BMW M3. The 2CV was great fun, but I always bought it as a bit of fun, an itch to scratch. I originally planned to keep the last two! However, fate happened. A friend really really wanted the E320, and so that went to him . I then of course bought a car that I've lusted after for quite some time. The Mercedes 280SE. But I don't plan to daily the M3 again. There are better cars to daily and I think it's good to have a daily where you are a little less precious about it. And I don't have to see the M3's rusty wings either as a bonus! Thus, my old man offered me the chance to buy his Audi A3 TDI DSG. A capable car, but I "need" something more engaging for the daily commute. As he bought a mate's 535d off him, there was talk of me having his Mondeo 2.5T instead. Naturally, the car I don't want is the car I can't sell, the Audi. Suddenly, i can see why some people aren't a fan of moderns. The Mondeo 2.5T and M3 are more alike than you think, and even the E61 535d is, but the Audi isn't. It's a bit of a bore! A very good capable car, but not one to stir the senses! So in short, a little messy at the moment! So, let's have some pics! What's gone: Even the dog is grumpy that I no longer have the E320 ; the 250 is a mate's: So, what's still here? Here's what I do like: It's a 4 year old shot now, but it's the same car : And here is something I'll probably have to drive into a river in order to get shot of it. I know forum members will wonder why I want the Mondeo over the Audi, but meh, that's me .

Looking back on this thread bought a few smiles and amazingly I got done what was set out although not totally by choice! The Corsa pick up went to it's new owner and as recently posted, some (still unknown) idiot without a conscience smashed the Lexus so in effect the two vehicles have been moved on. I'm now down to just the F100 and the camper as roadgoing projects which I imagine will continue into 2020!

Well both dailies flew through the mot this month so off to a good start. Not a single advisory on either! Volvo going (is) up for sale, mrs has bought a dog walking van/mpv (partner teepee) so golf+ will be my main car. Done nothing on the mk2, hopefully this will change this year but will see, going to be a weird year this. Probably need to spend a couple of months decluttering everything we own so that will probably hold mk2 work up. So plans are going as expected. Plan's going as expected, done nothing on the mk2, Volvo sold, still hunting for a new daily but can't decide what I want. List ranges from an Abarth 595 to a Audi S7 with much randomness in-between lol

I wanted to just drive the bloody thing and book two or three full days on track with an instructor. Turns out I was so busy at work that I only managed two trackdays on my own - and still had to fork out for a new cat, leads, plugs and alternator come MOT time! Still do busy to contemplate another trackday but the weather doesn't inspire confidence anyway at the moment.
