FOR SALE – 2001 / Y PORSCHE BOXSTER 2.7, 5 SPEED MANUAL, £3395ono
Sadly the time has come to part with a couple of my cars – this 2001 Porsche Boxster and my 1966 Mustang (see separate advert).
The Boxster is fantastic, and I wouldn’t be selling it except that circumstances mean that I may have the chance to buy a Porsche 911, so the Boxster and the Mustang need to go.
• 2001 Porsche 986 Boxster
• 2.7 engine with manual gearbox
• MOT to end December 2019 (no advisories)
• 130,000 miles
• Full Porsche / Porsche Specialist Service History
• Only 3 previous owners (last one was a Police Officer who owned the car for 16 years)
• Lots of bills, old MOT’s etc
• Original Service Book, all stamped up
• New clutch at a cost of £1291 in 2017
Headlight upgrade to later model 911 headlights
• Decker premium audio upgrade (this was a £400 option back in 2001!), sounds fantastic – the head units sell on ebay for around £400 even now. All the instruction books, leather case and removal tools plus the security code are with the paperwork.
• Has Air-Con (an £1850 upgrade) as well as fully functioning power hood
• Very good condition, alloy wheels sprayed in body colour and with excellent tyres.
• Leather interior with the sought after ‘wingback’ leather seats.
• Previous owner stated the IMS bearing had been done but I don’t have a receipt for that but my local Porsche specialist garage told me that if it hasn’t gone by 80,000 it probably never will and that IMS failure is actually fairly rare.
• Faults – only one that I know of – the airbag light came on after the door window regulator was replaced recently. Local specialist told me this is very common if you don’t disconnect the door airbag properly before replacing the window winder regulator and that they would re-set it during the next service for an additional £30. Next service is due in a few thousand miles but they are surprisingly cheap (£225 fixed price at my local specialist)
Overall a great car, fantastic to drive and I’m only selling so I can have a 911. It never fails to put a smile on your face when driving it and the exhaust note on acceleration is addictive.
This really is a lot of car for comparatively little money.
