Fords from Europe.
We got very few of them in the States. The Merkur XR4TI & the Merkur Scorpion back in the early 90's, and we got the Fiesta for two years in the early 80's but that's all that comes to mind.
You guys produce some fabulous Fords! I'd known they existed but seeing them well-prepared and well explained here has made me want a retro Ford from Europe. The original Escort & Escort MkII are not well-known here unless the Yank is a serious gear head, or sees them in video games. Sierra Cosworth is not a household name here... The Lotus Carlton was new to me when I saw one in Reader's Rides. It's high on my list of dream sedans.
Over here, the Ford is either a Mustang or a truck. I don't think we're making any other fords here now.

This is another along with the Gen 1 BMW Mini that has been on my “lust list” for a long time. Just that often supply is way below demand or life or another car is in the way. Sure, today these have a modern following to rival any European or Oriental offering. But I guess at the time, along with rust and a similar value to modern Kia, SsangYong and other offerings, they really just did not make the grade. So not entirely RR’s fault but Gen 1 & 2 Honda Civics still are an itch. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/209511/generation-honda-civics-basic-beautyMy first car was a 1979 Datsun 140Y SDX followed by a 1982 Ford Cortina Pickup and then my only ever privately bought brand New car, a 1987 Toyota Corolla Conquest 1.6 RS Hatch. The Conquest gave me all the 80’s joy a man could want and despite being a 1600 probably fell in the same category as the similar Honda Balade that was marketed by Mercedes Benz in SA at the time. Loved my Toyota and would have one again too but not sure the model was even available in the UK. Mine was light blue. The blacked out C pillar denoted 1600cc rather than 1300cc which made you walk that much taller in the 80’s as a 24 year old 😬

I've always liked older cars mainly due to financial constraints but have grown to love not following the crowd.

I really want a mk5 cortina estate I would never think about one, or an estate but seeing what people do to cars that aren’t the best looking, most stylish makes me want one, the use it to take the family summer holidays down the sea side Next year or two hopefully have one. Although I have a desperate need that won’t go away for something American aswell, as I’ve had a few of the British fords great minds think alike - bought this today: 1983 Mk5 Cortina Crusader Estate with slightly non-standard engine

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

I know it's not *quite* Retro (although mine's a 2002 it was designed in the mid 90s so it kind of fits) but I never thought of owning an SLK before coming on here. Yes it's got crispy wings and arches but it was stupidly cheap and has a shedload of history. It drives beautifully too

Whilest it's a very cool car, it's a known car in our Dutch Toyota club, it was for sale for 1750 last week. And it's very badly bodged together. It's a bigger project then it looks like from the pictures!

Interesting question - thanks for bumping the thread
As a confirmed "Opelholic" the answer is nothing before I joined up here and anything since I joined - It didn't happen over night it just crept up on me before I even knew it..........

In light of our recent watch along videos, before this place I wouldn't have known about the amount of Japan only Kei cars and certainly wouldn't have thought about buying one!

I would be like this with the exception that i can never sell anything so have reached peak capacity (well some time ago actually lol) Anything cheap, local and retro/different and i'm trying to make space for it

You could always import one CLICKY
