VW Variant. Burned out. Auction ends midday Wednesday 8th May. Bristol. Currently no bids. Must be of some use to someone even if it's only a novelty chicken shed?

Cat B so parts only. Burnt cars are a serious pain to restore.

If its Cat B then you cant purchase it unless you have the relevant & valid licences to do so - something that breakers & salvage yards hold - there is a service within Copart whereby you can bid on the vehicle and then break it for parts at the location but you cannot remove the complete vehicle - see the link below www.copart.co.uk/en/Content/uk/en/Support/Services/Category-B-Vehicles

There's normally a decent selection of stuff on there if you search for classics. Not everything is through insurance either, some people seem to prefer to sell on there than on sites like eBay. I guess there's not really a lot of chance of being messed about on there like there is on ebay.

Arnt the hidden fees for copart pretty silly? Like you buy a car for £500 but end up paying about £1,300 all in with fees etc.
Because they charge you for bidding, charge you for being a member, charge you for payment, charge you depending on how much the bidding goes up to.
Anyone have any positive experience with them?

Anyone have any positive experience with them? No, that's nonsense. To purchase anything from Copart you need to be a member. I think the full price is £49.99 from the top of my head, but they have a half price offer for a month twice a year, so I joined for £24.99 and I pay the half price for renewal every year now. There is a £15 loading fee for every vehicle, which covers the cost of digging the car out of their yard and into the loading area, where you can drive it away (if legal), load it onto your truck/trailer or they also provide transport for a price (always very reasonable in my experience). Then you pay their auction fees, which are pretty much the same as any "regular" auction. Their fees are as below: Vehicle Sale Price Range Fee £0.01 - £87.99 £25 £88.00 -£175.99 £47 £176 - £263.99 £51 £264 - £351.99 £53 £352 - £439.99 £57 £440 - £615.99 £65 £616 - £791.99 £71 £792 - £967.99 £78 £968 - £1,143.99 £91 £1,144 - £1,319.99 £103 £1,320 - £1,495.99 £115 £1,496 -£1,759.99 £139 £1,760 - £2,219.99 £173 £2,220 - £2,639.99 £199 £2,640 - £3,219.99 £247 £3,220 - £3,759.99 £308 £3,760 - £4,399.99 £322 £4,400 - £5,239.99 £388 £5,240 - £6,079.99 £459 £6,080 - £9,491.99 £488 £9,492.00 - £11,999.99 £507 £12,000 + 5% of hammer price to maximum £1,500 So on a car that's £500 on the hammer works out as follows: £500 Hammer Price £15 Loading Fee £65 Auction Fees So a £500 car (hammer price) would stand me in at £580, but if you're not VAT-Registered then factor in that the fees (Not the hammer price) are subject to VAT, so to a private individual a £500 would be £596 and if even if you signed up to Copart purely to buy one vehicle and wanted to factor the membership fee in, even at full price that would equate to £666 for £500 on the hammer, so no, it wouldn't be anywhere near £1300 for a £500 car.....

Don't they charge you a fee for bidding using a device that isnt on their site in their 'auction room'?
Those fees sound fine, but ive heard storys of being charged multiples times the cars worth in fees. Maybe that was incorrect information.

No. The fees I've stated above are the fees you pay, there aren't any more. Any stories you have heard are made up nonsense. Copart don't have any "auction rooms". Copart's auctions are online only, so they're probably the only auction that don't charge you an online bidding fee.
