ive an ally inlet ion my car, and the threads for a take off have worn out. I have some tiger seal, can i use this on it to temporary fix it?
Will tiger seal go soft over time with the heat? I know i could go and buy something better, but imonly interested in heat and tiger seal.
thanks

Just helicoil it, the time you spend forking about with tigerseal, then the matter of trying to remove it again afterward - just helicoil it and do it once. It's an easy process and isnt expensive.

As a bodge on my own cars I usually just stick some Araldite/Epoxy on the threads and wind whatever it is in then leave it to set.

Ive run Jb weld in heads a few times, for blocking oil ways and for bridging holes in inlet ports. It holds up fine. But as mentioned, helicoil is a much better option!

On my 2CV I was in a similar position. Sealant didn't work and as such I had a manifold that leaked.
A helicoil was about the only way I could cure it. JB weld may work in your application for a take off. Is it a takeoff you plan to use? If you do helicoil it, put locking compound around the helicoil to act as a a sealant.
