Simon998 XJ6 4 litre. Hamps. £500.00 www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C11652301995 X300. Short MOT, drives, SORN'd. Modest mileage, (since 2006 it's mainly done a little over £1K a year). Spanking clean MOT history but will need panel / repair section / welding for new MOT & paint for cosmetics, (it's £500.00 - on your budget this gives you £1K to play with!!) I would not underplay the glistening (no fails or advisories) MOT history; this is rare in most cars, very rare in complex cars and pretty much unknown in older complex cars for sale at this sort of money. Either the (American) owner owns an MOT tester, (unlikely), or the car has been well maintained.

Do it I had a lovely blue xj6 which I sold two years ago I preferred the 6 to the xj8 I had before it, probably because the 8 detonated one evening luckily near home The xj8

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJ6-4-2-Series-2/293265413375Fairly decent S2 XJ6 in NI. I've had most models, the latest being an X308. After encountering all the V8 engine issues with it, I'd never have another they're too damned fragile. The Series I - III are awesome if you get a good one, horrific if you get a project. Later XJ40's with the X300 style dash are strong. X300's with decent bodywork are the pick of the current crop if you're after a usable 'first' foray without too many problems. Best of luck... once bitten, thats the end of things!

cant find it again...and not really sure how i found it in the first place as I'm not on arsebook but the other day i spotted a very very tidy looking v8 xj with 66k(?) on the clock for less than £2k if i remember right. these have to be about the best value out there really.

I've had a couple of series and a couple of xjs all V12s I've had my xj12 for longer than I can remember I can think of loads of reasons not to buy a jag but none outweigh driving one I love old jags they drive so well and look great
They will go wrong and they will rust
Personally I recon you would have less problems with an older jag than a newer one When I say less I mean easier to fix

I’m skint but your tempting me now!! vitessetony picked up a very nice XJ6 manual a month or two back; (Also in b.r.g.) Wheel change was being debated and disasterbus showed how handsome XK8 wheels looked on his (also b.r.g.) XJ. It's amazing how transformative they are and how little the spend could be. <£400.00

Putting this off til after Christmas now. Having a few issues with my daily and I cant be arsed diagnosing it myself (Electrical and French) so I'm paying someone an extortionate amount to just get it fixed once and for all.
I had a drive in a XJ6, it was a 3.2 auto and to be honest it was lively enough for a sofa and as comfy as I had imagined. I will own one.
Unless anyone wants to swap me for a 172 Clio? lol, I can't see many Jaaaaag owners going from a jag to a 172.
thanks for all the replies guys!

Jaguar Sovereign 4 litre. Cornwall. £500.00 1995. MOT expired. Needs fuel pipe and some underbody corrosion noted on previous MOTs (advisories). Owner deceased. The plate might sell for a few ££hundred to a 4x4 fanatic?
