Gearbox advice for a fwd bit of metal

Hi Guy's, can't find my old post, got a guy asking me if this is clutch operated and does the starter motor mount on the front of the box? 1. i am sure it is cable operated, 2. it looks like it IS a front mounting starter, or...am i mad? I have tried to use the numbers on a search engine that supposedly tells you exactly what the said part numbers are....but no joy, any ideas/ (you talented lot!)

what is it from (more specific than Ford)

I think it may be somewhere around the mk2/3 Fiesta, mk3 Escort, but what model....? i have no idea/ came in a lot there were a few other bits in a box, fwd exhaust manifold, couple of rear fog lights (in the black plastic casing) but, that's not to say all the bits came from the same car? had them for a few years, never going to own another fwd again, so time to make some room, looking at the box, and the way it would sit (more upright than the pic) it does look as though the starter would be at the front and not behind? Anyway, any advice would be great!

Hi, It looks like an Escort Mk4 4 speed 'box, yes the starter is mounted beside the engine in front. Cable operated clutch but the shaft and lever are missing along with the release arm inside the bellhousing. The blue studs are for the engine/gearbox mounting brackets.
