CRX Del Sol VTi ’92. UK model. 100,060 miles
Rotten shell
5 weeks MOT (Expires 22nd Nov)
Fully working electric Transtop roof.
B16A2 engine, complete with gearbox, all ancillaries, loom and ECU. All in decent working order. (Slight oil weep from the rocker cover gasket).
I drive it very carefully for the most part. I probably open it up a couple of times per month on average. Always driven carefully until warm, always ran on V-Power.
Completely original except for a fairly noisy cat-back S/S exhaust (nice tone, not too raspy) and I believe somebody removed the aircon at some point.
Not on original numberplate. At some point someone fitted a private plate and didn’t keep it on retention.
2 keys & fobs (aftermarket alarm). Central locking occasionally sticks, so you need to press the button and turn the key.
Rubber seals perished, leaks inside cabin after it rains. I’ve been careful to soak all rainwater up, so the interior isn’t soaked (a little damp, maybe).
Original alloys all need refurbing and tyres (2 have reasonable tread, but are pretty old. Other 2 are down to the wear markers. All hold air OK).
ABS pump is shot; buzzed at me like Simon Cowell hitting the X-Factor big red button when I started the car!. I removed the relay and dashboard bulb about 2 years ago, so now no buzzing and the brakes are twice as good as when I bought the car (still s?!£ though! Lol)
I have been daily driving this for the last 4 years. It’s been super reliable.
I had a thermostat stick open 3 years ago, which was replaced and system refilled with Honda premix.
A driveshaft went. I paid £35 for a J&R one 3 years ago and it’s been great ever since.
I put a new set of NGK plugs and NGK blue leads on around 2 years ago.
It had an oil change about 6 months ago with Mobil Super 2000 10W40 Semi-synth and a HAMP filter, along with a new YUASA battery.
So, I’m basically selling this as a full B16A2 engine transplant with everything you need, and you can even drive it home and check it all works properly.
The shell could probably be rebuilt if someone has the time, welding know-how and willingness. The value on these may still go up?
£800
