It's not quite my cup of tea but I do appreciate alot of the detail in that. A hell of alot of craftmanship has gone into making that a well-finished product. For me, take the grille away up front and lose a few inches off the wheels and it would be spot on. Think Eagle Low Drag GT, with elements of this .

The original e-type was a fantastic fantastic fag packet sketch. But like others have said some of the details, to turn it into a real Jaguar were pretty awful.
The Foose car does improve largely on those, bonnet scoop and tail lights still need to go to the vote though.
For those that don't like the wires..... they aren't wires. But machined !! He does own a wheel firm after all, and a rather good one at that.

Was at the show last week and saw it in person. It just looks all wrong in person. It's lost the proportional balance of the original vehicle. Various details are either too large or too small to fit the whole look. The one question I'd like to ask him is 'How has he made such a name ruining perfectly good vehicles'?

Some people like the look. Also, the Pro-Touring look is popular in America, albeit that is more about Function over form, which is why the GM Engineer, the founder of Pro-Touring, did it in the first place. Chip Foose to me looks he does more of a pimped out Pro-Touring look, with more of an emphasis on form. Chopped hot-rods can be semi-useless but there is no denying that they are awesome to look at even if they are not pleasant to drive ; after all, they are a show piece . The world would be boring if we all liked the same thing.

Here have another angle... Technically before it was revealed too as they were just doing the last polish before the cover went back on and the event opened. Personally I think it looks great, it is only an E-Type as well, I'm not sure why people are getting bent out of shape. Isn't like they modified something rare like an Iso Rivolta.

Stunningly beautiful. However, if it was me, I'd prefer it to be a little more traditional and a little less, erm, donkish....

i know we are all experts but to my eye there are a few things that could be "improved". just a touch less wheel and a snatch more rubber , turn the bonnet scoop into a bulge , loose the rear lights and fit either a very slim light flush mounted just above and following the profile of the bumper or even inset into the crest of the bumper itself. finally , ditch the v8 and get a 12 cylinder back in there , if not a jag then one of these!

A stunning build that misses perfection because of wheels and fake lows. However, very well done considering the canvas they've started with and far better than I could ever achieve.

Itโs interesting how different things irk different people... That grill looks like it wouldnโt be out of place as a walkway at a chemical plant...๐คฎ

That grill looks like it wouldnโt be out of place as a walkway at a chemical plant...๐คฎ I hadn't seen the grill but I just checked page one and yes, I agree. It's either gangway lattice or it looks a little too Maserati to be on a Jagular. So much wrong with this car beyond the glossy first impression. I also dislike the Daewoo Matiz rear light eggs. The classic E-Type rear assemblies are utterly stunning little pieces of architecture. If you're going to do a dream e-type surely you'd incorporate those or pay tribute to them in some new form.

However, if it was me, I'd prefer it to be a little more traditional and a little less, erm, donkish.... I think that is a legit view for sure. However given the Foose business is in part wheels I suspect they are a bit of showing off at the sort of insane stuff they can produce, large billet wires are pretty amazing.

True true.
It is stunning, and ultimately a car that doesn't offend anybody anywhere in any way is unlikely to be a car that anyone has any strong feelings about at all.

Apart from the wheels and back lights it is close to perfect. Paint is good, but personally would have liked it in a dark colour such as British Racing Green or almost black Midnight Blue.

Had a conversation earlier today with someone that knows a thing or two about cars and he commented that he was surprised at the response the rear lights got, given how ugly the standard ones are. So I had a look up ... Eeeeek, are they trailer lights!? The front grill appears to be fairly similar on the Foose one to standard. So there is that too. Whilst the wheels are definitely excessive one of the things that doesn't show well in the photos is the fact that they are dishes wires, modern billet technology is bonkers. I believe Foose said himself that they started with a Series 3 because it was the ugly duckling (and no one would forgive him cutting up a series 1 hahah) Anyway thought it some interesting stuff to add to the discussion.

Interesting. Yes those lights are ORRIBLE and his are far nicer than those. I'm not au fait with type series variations personally, so I was thinking of the lovely series 1 lights which are things of beauty IMHO.

The grill is not similar to the original. Far from it. The original works better in that the โblocksโ are rectangular, with the longer side running in the same direction as the longer part of the elliptical opening. Foose has killed that little touch by going to a chunky square pattern as found on industrial walkways....Bleeuch ๐คฎ
Apart from that,I pretty much like it. Not overly keen on the wheels, But saying that,I am not convinced itโs the rim itself. It could be a combination of the rim coupled to a large sidewall tyre. Might look totally different with a slightly lower profile tyre. For my taste, I think a set of proper wire wheels in black, with loads of dish would look better.

Wheels like these......๐ But again, do these look better by design alone,or are they more appealing to me because of the low profile tyre? Hard to call....๐

Personally I prefer an American wire over a uk wire wheel, from memory the difference is more spokes and a flatter arrangement. Id have American wires on everything that's got wires, not just fooses jag. And black wires look really moody on anything.
