Last of the proper Volvos.
Limited edition 'Celebration' - last of the line before the S70/V70 took fully over the reigns as its replacement. This has the model-specific alloy wheels, half-leather interior and clear indicator clusters as standard.
Solid and robust B230FK 2.3 Litre Low Pressure Turbo engine. Reliable car, always starts first turn of the key. No leaks. No overheating. No strange noises. The exhaust has a blow so sounds a lot louder than it should. High miles, but these are known to do over 500k miles with ease.
These engines handle large horsepower and are big on the tuning scene.
Very sought after 'M90' 5 Speed Manual Gearbox. Changes gear as it should, and the clutch also operates fine.
Coupled with Rear Wheel Drive = a tuner or drifter's dream!
All tyres have plenty of tread and the brakes seem to work as they should. Suspension all appears to be in good order. The old Volvos are like sitting on your arm chair - proper comfortable and relaxing to drive, ironing out all bumps and dips in the road.
A useful old workhorse. You can fit almost anything in this - probably more space than a van with the rear seats folded down!
In presentable condition for the year, but not new or perfect. Marks, blemishes and stone chips as to be expected. A few minor rust blisters, but not the typical rot box. Lower sills have lost some paint finish. Top of tailgate has some marks. Cleans up well and has that robust 90s Volvo image.
The interior is also in good condition, free from major rips or tears. Wear as to be expected, but nothing to shout about. Given the mileage, this is a testament to the Volvo build quality of the era.
Most things work as they should. The heating system needs attention, as it doesn't blow hot air (gets slightly warm at best). ABS light intermittently comes on. None of these effect the way the car drives.
