Figured this was worth putting in the general board, there will be more details mailed out to members and in the members forum in due course. We've hooked up with Slip and Grip Automotive to get ourselves a trackday sorted for Club Retro Rides Members. Monday 27th July at Castle Combe is going to be our Club Retro Rides event. Pricing for the day or half day will be published in the Members forum and in email, but it is very good! General info for our trackdays at Castle combe. We take around 50 cars in one day 12 cars on track at any one time Open pitlane Free photography Free Instruction Trackside videos available to book from www.trackdayvideo.co.uk/ - Example - www.facebook.com/SlipandGripAutomotive/videos/435693493717935/Super friendly paddock atmosphere and excellent on track etiquette All drivers and passengers must wear helmets, long sleeves and trousers Extra Drivers £25 Passenger sign on £10 Drivers must hold a valid UK licence or MSUK race licence Minimum passenger age is 16 DB limit at Castle Combe is measured at 45 degrees, 0.5M from exhaust tip and is 100DB static at 4500rpm Slicks are permitted provided the car had a at least a half roll cage No hand held cameras in car Given that we have that date of the 27th, I'm going to attempt to get a Club RR event booked up for the 25th and 26th too, got a couple of places in mind, but within easy travelling distance of Castle Combe makes sense to me, so it is possible we can all pile over to there on the Monday and enjoyed some track action and more hanging out with friends.

I've done a few 'Slip and Grip' events and they're always very well organised. Bit too far in the future for me to commit to so will probably be sold out before I get round to booking.

Obviously this is a club retro rides event, but for us who are members who don’t currently have a track worthy retro will moderns be allowed as well?

We are trying to keep it classic and retro only. If the model you own was originally produced before 1998 but you have a later version that would be fine.

Hi Ross, yeah all good thanks! No worries, unlikely I’ll have anything, although to be honest with the lack of interest I’ve had on the Accord (which would just sneak in) I may well still have it by July!

Sounds like it'll be a great event!
Just a note of caution for those who are perhaps less experienced in track days; Your Auto Insurance Is Not Valid For Such Events, (if you crash or someone crashes into you you cannot file an insurance claim).
I've seen a lot of people coming a cropper there over the years who, (on top of their recently demolished pride and joy), then find out it's all at their expense. Several of these have been totally blameless, having been crashed into by gung-ho idiots, but would still have had to shell out large sums from their own pocket. They have all had one thing in common, they've all turned white as the proverbial sheet upon learning their insurance is invalid!

Hopefully Ross can help out with pointing people towards track day insurance ... or maybe our resident classiclineuk can offer some help in that department?

Mkx that is correct If you would liek to insire your car for accident damage on track we recommend Reis Motorsport Insurance. We are on their approved organisers list and they may even give you a cheeky discount. You do not have to have insurance for the trackday and i have only ever insured one of over 100 cars on track in 12 years. I tend to work on the basis that if i damage the car so much it cant be fixed, if its worht as much in bits as it is complete i don't worry about insuring it. In 12 years of doing trackdays i have never seen one car hit another on the circuit. We have sighting laps at the start of the day and very good instructors available throut out the day if you feel nervous or want help learning the track, so if your new to trackdays do not panic...we have you coovered
