As suggested call the number ,
The name on any log book is not necessarily the legal owner, never had a problem buying any car as long as a log book is provided at point of sale

I initially had a genuine question as to why it would matter to you who’s name is on the log book and why you wouldn’t just go and see the car or even call the owner as has been said ?

I was selling a Pajero for my elderly neighbour years ago. A chap came to view it, he was obnoxious and dripping with bad attitude, (with the apparent intention of leveraging the price down). By the time I'd spent 5 minutes with him there was no way he was getting that off-roader even if he'd paid 3 times the asking price. I will admit that it gave me some perverse pleasure as he stormed off in knowing he'd wasted a 120 mile round trip.

I suspect something similar is happening here, (and totally understand if that is the case!)

Wow - can't believe I have missed all of this banter over the past week or so!

Yes, the car is registered to me. A deposit was received from an overseas buyer and they will be collecting it this weekend. They were due to collect it over the Christmas period, but could not due to illness and having to re-schedule flights.

If that does not go ahead, I will update the thread accordingly.
